This should be fixed in the upcoming v2.01 - see function oName:

In my initial version I just forgot to intercept the case that sOb could be empty ... sent revised code to MrLong last week!

Anyone else see the EA take a massive nosedive so far this week? One fresh OOTB instance I started 18 hours ago is now down 10% on its balance and down 30% equity...

Yes, I thinks we need to look at the SL, we need to remember this EA is in development, not a finished product .

Didn't start demo this week - waiting for upcoming v2.01.
OOTB run two weeks ago lost around 10% over the week, last week regained around 4%.

The 2.0 version is still making steady gains, but right now it's also open for big losses. As MrLong said, this is an issue that will need addressing.

On the other hand, I don't hear a lot of comments on the entry signals anymore. So this side of the EA must be getting close to a satisfactory level.

I just hope we can keep the momentum going on this EA. Many good ideas have stranded close to the finish.
Keep in mind that most of us would be very happy with a steady 10% gain a year on there equity. 10% amounts to just under 0.2% a week. Setting a realistic goal is very important!

Yes I agree, it would be a shame to see a period of DD cause people to lose interest in the EA. However it is alarming to start it on a fresh demo, go to sleep with its running trades down 2% and awake to find its closed some of them at a 10% loss & the remaining trades would take that to a 30% loss - in one night. I haven't had a chance yet to see what caused it, other than seeing a drop on ***JPY.

These last couple of weeks around the xxxJPY have obviously been a-typical. I have left the EA running 24/7 OOTB on Alpari UK demo, only updated as versions come out and NO intervention, now on 2.0. On balance it was doing fine but couldn't handle the extremes. which in my opinion is operator error! no EA is set and forget imho.

The fantastic work you all have done and the speed at which you have done it are truly amazing!
I'm sorry I don't have the skills to contribute.

Hi Bill, I'd agree its operator error if (a) the EA's left running around major news and (b) trades run into profit, hit difficulties around support/resistance & the user doesn't close the trades.

However if the EA enters trades under normal circumstances and they run immediately & heavily into loss then there's not a lot the user can do to intervene other than deciding to bite the bullet and close the trades, which is effectively moving the SL closer & in my experience a closer SL just means more stop-outs, not more profit.

Anyway, the EA & the entry method its based on need time, probably another few months of forward testing to get a proper idea of how it performs over the long run.

Also Willem-Bram, I disagree that 10% per year is acceptable unless the profits were steady, consistent and with minimal DD, which so far isn't true of this EA.
