Hello all,

I also wish the boy the best and a full recovery.

I have a question concerning the TMA_CG mod3 indicator. Is it repainting, meaning that after the close of a candle the line above/below after that candle is changed for the past? Or will all values be fix after the close of the candle? Asking this to find out if I can visually backtest with that indicator.

Hi Armin yes it "repaints", you can try FastTrueTMALine.mq4 you will find here http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =38&t=3550
it is modified with an ignore future option.

Hi Tommaso,

thank you for your answer. Just to make sure I expressed myself correctly with the repainting.
I attached a current chart of GBPCAD Daily timeframe. The turquoise lines are the TMA_CG mod3 lines how they are presented at the moment. The two black lines are drawn by myself into the chart. Do you mean if I look in 2 weeks again at the chart that the turquoise line (TMA_CG mod3 indicator) now could be exactly where I have drawn the black lines?

Bob - just read your message about lil Noah. I'm a father of two young ones myself and a school teacher in London. Its painful hearing of a child being hurt in any way (which is why the gaza issue has brought tears to my eyes). Glad Noah's doing well. I am not a believer in God as I am agnostic in nature. However, I do believe in a supreme intelligence and do believe we can direct energy to where its needed. Some people call that prayer. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Noah and I'm glad is doing well.

Thanks James and to all out there who have expressed their thoughts. If you only knew Noah, he is the sunshine boy. My daughters have a support website up and I will ask Steve to let me post it here for those that would like to help. ICU here in China will cost about 10,000 USD a week and he will be there for several weeks. The issue here is you have to pay in advance for hospital services so that really puts a strain on the family. For example you pay the ambulance driver when he arrives. Anyway the long term care and recovery will take along time. Once he is able they will probably try to get him back to the USA but at this time that is impossible.

One thing you need to understand with the re-paint issue is on higher TF it is not an issue. It takes a lot of candles to move a line and on a daily candle that can take weeks or months and on a 4H chart that can take weeks. So the lines are valid at the time of the trade. The only issue is back-testing if you go back months or years in time it may give you a false impression but in real time it makes no difference. Basically TMA is excellent during range periods and more difficult to use during trend periods. Since the market ranges over 70% of the time (and basically most of 2014 so far) do not get too bent out of shape over this issue. If you go to Al's thread at Forex Factory "Extreme TMA" you will get a good idea on how to use it.
