The other thing we will have to consider is to reduce our number of currency pairs or to split them over 2 accounts because sooner or later we will reach max orders on Empty4 and then it would be even harder for POS to recover.

EDIT: If in the experts tab of the Empty4 terminal we are seeing error in Stop Loss 130 or error: unable to place trade etc etc, then we have most likely reached the maximum number of trades.

I haven't had that issue with GP.

That is sad, it must be painful to see it happen.
I had a demo account running on auto for 2 years.
It doubled the account twice but when I decided to up the account size and lot size, it got margin called.

I don't know if you are aware but GP only offer leverage up to 200:1 so you will reach margin call earlier.

I did, but most Empty4 brokers are crap.
About 2 months ago I moved all my test accounts away from one UK broker
because they banned my IP for too much trading activity.
Then I noticed this error. First on SPB and soon after on POS so I had to move away from Bully Pepperstone.

Maybe you didn't notice the occasional error, I hadn't either but I saw it when I was investigating why there were no new trades. Looking in the Experts log I saw that I was getting Order send failed with Error (148)
Mind you, those accounts were trading between 20-25 pairs each and POS was trading 4 time frames.

Let me know if I am wrong... When it comes to lot sizing, DD and risk....
at 0.01 lot per $1000 would mean:

a $1k account is the same as a $10k account is the same as a $100k account

lot size = 0.01, 0.1, 0.10

30% draw down = $300, $3,000 $30,000 .

So the EA isn't taking on more risk because there is more money... It has already scaled the risk at the same rate. I noticed higher volatile pairs and go for much longer runs before they recover, like GJ ran for 500+ pips before recovering. This has killed an account or two in itself... maybe this or something like this happened here?

loading your account into myfxbook and with 14 months of data will give you some nice analysis to figure out which pairs have longer/shorter cycles... more profitable etc...

I like this feature, I have added it to my POS version.
It will increase my number of trades because I was only taking +ve swap trades.
What minimum swap do you use?
I have mine set to -1

Am continuing with the leftovers with 3x dollup/ 1/3th of the lotsizing.

For sure.
The AUD, NZD and the USD went way beyond the 6-th borders on the H4, causing a huge DD.
Looking at the D1 however, might have skipped a few trades.

Is your basket closure working fine?
In my V_1E I found a problem in global closure where the EA was sometimes counting profit trades a few times and this was resulting in some baskets to close -ve.
Or don't you use global closure anymore?

No, I never used that.
I only use the recovery besides the TP.

I use a Trade Manager to take care of global closure.

I have been a silent lurker for a very long time, but thought to chime in here for a bit.

Bear in mind that the settings Gertje uses is based on long term trends, i.e the pair wants to run in a certain direction and that all the whipsaws will eventually work out.. until it doesnt. We should all have lived thru the runaway trade, this is not any different. In fact if you were to correlate, Slopey Peaky Bob was the first to get hit and we will expect POS to follow soon since both are using rather similar logic.

That said, i've found the sweet spot to be the current dollop settings * 4. Granted that this will reduce profitability by at least 4x, but it will also reduce the dd by an equivalent amount as well. I want to trade in a way i can continue to trade.

The sixth also seems to be a good measurement of TP when the pairs move and the recovery method based on gertje's settings performs marginally well for extended moves. Another thing to consider (assuming you can trade both ways) is to trigger some form of counter trend trade so take some DD off the table, but of course that will also mean more variables to address... but thats for another day :)
