I am sitting here for the 2nd day in a row watching trades go into profit but I cant close them because they arent the first one in. So stupid. Probably lost over 200 pips already.

Bob, Thanks so much for all of your contributions. I don't know if this would help in your case, but I'm in the U.S. and have some of my money in accounts with Oanda. So far, they only enforce FIFO on trades of the exact same size for the same pair. I am getting around this by using their own trading platform to actually place trades, because their trading platform lets you trade individual dollars. So I have trades of 1000, 1001, and 1002 open at the same time and they let me close them independent of each other. Downside - their Empty4 platform only shows trades above $1,000, and only displays them to the nearest 1,000, so I end up using the Empty4 platform to display my charts and their platform for placing trades. Pain in the neck, but it gets around the FIFO stuff (for now at least). I've also got a tiny account set up with Forex Broker, Inc., which will accept U.S. clients. Swap rates are horrible on most pairs, but I use them for my carry trades with AUD and NZD unless I am going to be in and out of a trade within a few days. I just can't imagine trusting them with much of my money at this point. Good luck! If someone finds a better solution for us U.S. guys, we'd all love to hear it!! |

Well I found out that changing the lot size makes no difference. So will have to change trading habits or brokers. |

That would work if you want to hedge but multiple level trades as soon as you have two or more trades on a pair you are still screwed if you only want to close one. I could have taken three trades on the eur/nzd between 50 and 100 pips so far this week and havent taken a one because of earlier trades. At some point I will have to bite the bullet and take my losses and start over. I am thinking of closing my biggest Cowboy IBFX account, trade a small one and see how I can do. I could only justify 2 levels and that seems to be a pain. I can go with Global Prime but I dont expect to stay in China so getting money out would be a problem. I am going to close my Easy Forex account also. My only solution for the short term is to increase my people I trade for and live on my earnings from those accounts. What is nice about them is they are happy to get 2-3 % a month and that is easy trading for me. Again I want to see if I can get my own personal Belize account then I am my own broker. I can then write Forex Peace Army every time I dont like what my broker does. LOL  |
