Hi José Luis,

I read it like you about three times. In my opinion it is a great strategy and a very good start point for brainstorming. In all my years of experience with forex trading I learned the best way to go ahead is experimenting, exclude what not works and so on...
So I think we are not going around in this thread for nothing , on the contrary...

Cheers :)

Hi Jose ! Yes I also think that's the point !
And
@milanese: It seems to me the strategy is perhaps pretty good ... so the only question is the avaiability of a bugfree Empty4 version of the bot doing the same things phils EA is trading ! Just my 2 cents ...

Yes ! DeltaPipsMA25 is the maximum distance allowed between MA25 1/2 or 2/1. That's to allow early trade when price retrace but not when trend is well established ... Philippe
Phil, may I ask: at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 905#p66905 you set DeltaPipsMA25=0, in all other settings of Matt or Dudest it is set to 10. What is the impact of this? Thanks Mike

Hi, updating from MM_36 to MM_37 we get a new variable "MaxUnprotectedTrades=2(default)" and "MaxTrades=100(default)" and drop "NbTradeMax" as described in the Change Log.
What does this mean?
Thanks Mike

Hi Mike,

MaxUnprotectedTrades=2(default) means that Marylin opens max 2 trades whithout SL
MaxTrades=100(default) means she can open 100 trades (if Maxtrades -MaxUnprotectedTrades are with SL)

Cheers :)

Marylin uses a daily strategy, so patience with her trades is asked ;) Marylin will set a SL at a resonable R/S point and will close the trade if the trend changes. Take the time for reading the entire thread it is worth it.

Cheers :)

Hi Mike

Param DeltaPipsMA25 allow more or less aggressive trade.

When MACD and Stoch rise a trade signal, MA25 will confirm it only if Delta MA25 N-1/N-2 <= DeltaPipsMA25

So bigger is DeltaPipsMA25, more aggressive is your trade. In other words, Marylin will try to take a trade sooner at the beginning of a retracement... hoping that it is the beginning of a new trend. It can be between 0 - 10

cheers

Hi Tommaso,

how many times have you to read the entire thread ? I have read it three times. The results of phil_trade are obtained with a very specif language and broker. He recognizes his results are broker and language dependant. Perhaps it is better that phil_trade makes the conversion to mql4 or provides his source code in Windev.

Hi José

He recognizes his results are broker and language dependant ??? Where did you read this ? that's not true !

this is a daily trades strategy, so broker data feed could modify a little the entry/exit point, but only a little. I'm running GP, Cowboy IBFX and Excel Market accounts, with quite same trades.

language dependant -> no, I don't think so. Has someone compared my trades and Empty4 trades ? It's the only good way to know :) But few people here try to put a lot of work and only cry if there is no +100% returns in 10 days ! Marylin is good, but could be better if a group of traders/coders works on it !

the main points are :
1 - parameters : more or less aggressive
2 - patience, patience AND patience
3 - DO NOT MANUALLY INTERVENE... if you don't know very well how Marylin works

Have a look to my forextester 4 years backtest, you will see some long period of drawdown, like now since 15 July. But don't forget, it's a DAILY strategy and one trend will give you success after a lot of little losses. And drawdown could be about 20%... so trade 0.01 lots for minimum 1000 $.

cheers

Philippe
