Hello All,

great work people - I have not yet used BASA but really enjoy the melding of minds in this great forum.

I was debating whether or not to post this suggestion as I feel a little out of my league with the calibre of contributors here - so take it or leave it I guess, if it helps great, if not no problem.

The way I see it BASA is great at identifying the trend but the entry point is a little hard to isolate - I guess that's trading in a nutshell.

One indi I have been using the last few months with great success is Harmonics, which I would summarise as the combination of wave theory and fibs. The guys who have developed Nens already incredible indi have identified some interesting patterns that have a high success rate - Gartley patterns are well known but there are others that might suit your BASA setup by identifying entry points on pull back.

The way I see it this combination BASA (H4) + Harmonics (H1 or H15) would provide a robust system for trend and entry.

So I'm going to start testing the two together and will report with the results, but wanted to throw it out to the forum for comments.

Something else that might also interest the forum and particularly those who wish for an alternative to Empty4 - I was researching LMAX Exchange brokers and platforms and came across a relatively new platform by PFSoft = Protrader 2 / 3. Version 3 is in Beta testing and I'm going to wait until it goes live to make the switch, but the guys at PFSoft have been extremely helpful. So why is this platform so good - it has a built in MQL4 code converter so your Empty4 indi + EA work. I have already loaded MPTM in with a little help from PFSoft who fixed some syntax that wasn't converting, but apart from that it was fine. The complex Harmonics indicators also imported with some minor syntax tweaking.

No "last looks" like Empty4, and 3ms execution for cross-connected brokers.

I have no relationship with these guys, it just looks like a really advanced trading platform that I think this forum would be interested in.

Steve - if you think it worthy perhaps a new thread in a more appropriate place?

Unless I am doing iHistory a grave disservice, you are selling yourself waaaayyyy short. iHistory reports results in actual pips not points, so you actually made 581 pips, not 58. Fantastic.

This reminds me to post my results. Coming up.

Bear in mind that these are H1 trades, not H4 as Shelley originally recommended.

Positive pips but cash loss.

Next week, I am going to try a straight tp at 50 pips without the part close at 30. Anybody not sure what I am talking about, I am too tired to explain. Just read my damn posts.

I've had the same idea and have been watching harmonic indicators with trades taken on 10.4/10.6 on H1, using BASA and TCO. One problem is are we going to be missing out on profitable 10.4/10.6 trades based on stochastics, candle pattern and pivots when only waiting for harmonic patterns with possible great R:R? You and I could experiment with this to see if it has legs to make an infrequently trading, yet hopefully accurate possibility for an EA. PM on the way.

You are right about the part close bit though. As I was discussing with matrixebiz a page or two back, it isn't the most efficient way to bank profits. Sorry Shelley. :D

No need to apologise...each to his own!
For me it works - average of 5% gain per month over the last 3 months. I already tried the other way first and banked more with half lots closed.

Nice fchaman...you are achieving great results. Congrats and please keep sharing your results!

My 4H live BASA has also started the week nicely with 1 trade taken NZDJPY that has closed half lots already and SL @ +40. Also my USDCAD is still open with SL @ +120 :D

Thanks Shelly...BASA 1hr is keeping up very well.

I am planning to run another EA soon along with BASA...just to compare them...Assume due to the magic number set to 0 by default, I have no issue running another EA in parallel...correct?
