Hi Rene and Mathias, Thanks so much Guys, Ok so here's the thing, if we start looking at medium to long term strategies we simply have to start by looking at weekly candles. However it can become cumbersome if we set "look back minutes" over a couple of weeks with Maddy dash board. Therefore is it possible to have an added functionality with look back in hours or even better look back in candles? I understand that it would deviate from George's original thinking but we are talking a totally different ball game here, when we start talking long term strategies. Next. Can we relax the strength signals or at least have an option to choose from 1 to 7 signals in the Maddy strength test. The thing here is, currently we have to wait for 4 currencies pairs to show strength and if we are talking in terms of weeks it could be a couple of weeks later before at least 4 pairs of a symbol show strength and by that time we could have missed out on a couple hundred pips or alternatively get in too late for a particular currency pair. When we trade in the direction of a weekly candle the original trade will be in the direction of the trend. My concern here is that there will be pull backs and what looks like nothing on a weekly candle may represent a couple of hundred pips, however we can also scalp our way back into the weekly trend by perhaps having the option of trade long or short only. I dont know how much sense this makes because shorter time frames will have to come in line before signal is given nevertheless just as an added precaution. Edit: A better way to put it if we are under lets say a 15 moving average on the weekly time frame we will take only short trades if the weekly candle has crossed below lets say a 5 Ma. This will be applicable to the Mad trader Ea. Anyway would be nice to get some more ideas from our Mad traders for long term strategies Rene if I am asking too much please say so but as always look up to you and will respect whatever decision you make Take care, Leon |

Hi Guys, Just some thoughts for anyone wanting to experiment with medium to long term strategies.. Today the first day of September the markets started off with a bang and am happy to say that Maddy captured the moves. As said in my previous post the weekly time frame is absolutely important for longer term strategies. The pound pairs are absolutely hammering it and looking 150 pips plus per pair at this stage. Nevertheless here are my settings for anyone wanting to look at a longer term strategy, Take note that this is based on the current week and the previous week candle either red or green but does not necessarily represent the be end and end all of the trend as it could go against the greater down trend or uptrend. The maddy dash board look back is set at 50000 minutes will just have to bare with this for now. Settings for the mad trader ea I have at Ma stacking 1 hour and ma settings of fast ma 2 lwma and slow ma 60 lwma set to open. Hgi 1 hour and 4 hour will also be good with these setting to take care of the pull backs. currently have some trades with these settings. Tc Leon |

My Pleasure Fire580, I am looking excellent today after Nfp. I also use the Maddy dashboard to enter manually as well as let the Ea do its thing. Anyway nice to know. Will just have to take care of the pull backs.. Have a great weekend. Cheers Leon |

Would be nice if in the future we can have Magic Numbers added to the Dashboard so we can easier track different "preset" trades. |

Hi Guys. Been a while since I have posted here. Whilst there have been great developments with Mathias's ea I am just not getting the same stability with exactly the same entries and closures as I am getting with Mad Trader Ea and no stab at Mathias, he is doing a stunning job there. Rene's code is simply flawless and I will always fall back here... Nevertheless as I said before, madtrader is a long term association for me... We always get happy when basket trades are being closed at a massive 300 pips profit. Well here's the thing, it is a proven fact that most retail traders get it right most of the time with their entries but it is the management of trades that let most of us down. When we have losses we really close at big losses. So I will work on this in my next posts. Rather than close a full basket at a time I want to become more selective in the trades that I close and with this in mind I will post my results in time to come. The point being for me is that we have great potential medium term trades opening and are simply cutting them short because of basket closures. As per the picture I have 5 trades that are going Ok above 30 pips and will look at them selectively before I close them. The others are all infancy stage trades and I need to let them run and if some stops are taken out then so be it... Off course I do know that Mad Trader Ea will or should intervene before then.. Anyway the crux of this post is to build med term trades... Tc Leon |

Hi Leon! Good to hear that you are still exploring new areas. The most important part is not what tool to use but what strategy to use. And if that is easier for you here then continue here. I will continue to read what you find. Looking forward to it. And btw, I can understand that madtrader is more stable as my EA is still evolving heavily. I will try to stabilize it soon. Keep up your good work! Br Mathias |

Hi Guys, Due to some pm requests I will post my setfiles and the idea behind my current tests. My whole current testing is based on Hgi trendsignals. Hgi trendsignals are very powerful signals undoubtedly. The problem is that I have not exploited them to the full or correctly. Getting into medium term trades requires a totally different mindset...I often look at how I have handled them...and here goes The idea now is for the Ea handle the whole damn thing for me and keep my emotions away from it. I will not intervene at all. I dont care if I have a losing week. At some point the ea will go into a big profit. At least I hope so...well it should with Hgi signals. Would it not be great to have a basket of 5000 pips in profit and not mind if you have a trade close in a loss?. The idea now is to not close trades as a basket but rather let Madtrader close individual trades on a opposite Hgi trend signal only....no more basket closure for me. I have set up the Maddy dashboard in the simplest form to capture all Hgi signals on all timeframes you want to test. I am concentrating on the 5 min, 1hr and 4 hr time frames for now. 15 could be better then 5 mins and also could include the daily at some point. This method could also be used on Mathias's Ea with added features of Css etc. Finally Guys. This may be the same entry methods I have used on previous tests but there is one big difference here.....and that is the Mindset...So if you are a scalper this will definitely not be for you. Patience will be key here and most of all stick the emotions and let the ea do its thing. For testing only.....I will post my results weekly. Good or bad it does not matter. It is the overall picture that matters here. The Maddy dashboard v 1.7: Madtrader Ea: I have explored many areas now and hopefully this is the way to go for me and ultimitely in the right direction. Please feel free to comment and give suggestions. Tc Leon |

Hi Mathias, First of all thanks for your kind words. Your ea is as much a part of me as Rene's Madtrader. So I will always be with whatever developments happen in your thread...waiting for the time to jump in Bazze pleasure my friend.. Just something I forgot to mention this morning..The reason I like to include the 5 min t/frame, is that you will often find that you have a 1 hr Hgi or 4 hr trend up signal and a 5 min down signal and vice versa......In a way this is a hedging method and at some point either one will win the race. Most likely it will be the higher time frame signal but at least the 5 minute will hedge drawdowns. Tc Leon |
