I have the 10K to open an account with Citi Forex but I only hesitate because the minimum is .05 lots to trade. I may or may not want to do that going into what looks like a very wild fall for Forex. However with the hedge ability I may do that or I may just go FIFO if this new 1H thing works.

Basically the NFA is going to destroy all the companies that offer small time trading and you will probably need 10K to start in this business. The big money boys want to make sure poor people dont learn some trade with a couple of hundred bucks and make it down the road.

A Cowboy IBFX rep in the U.S. said that they (U.S. Cowboy IBFX) are discontinuing Empty4 accounts, but will offer FX using the Tradestation platform. No more micro or nano lots, $2,000 minimum to open an account.

Tradestation acquired Cowboy IBFX awhile ago.

just to make something very clear. upon high impact news data, MM's will usually move price in the opposite direction for cheaper prices to buy before the release, or for selling at a higher price. You could possibly see this setting up within a 15m TF before any release.

Yeah I have seen that in the past. Lower TF will often show some cheating just before a release. I just hate NEWS trading though with their spikes. I prefer just to take the long term direction and just swallow the spikes short term. I did enjoy those euro spikes this week though.

This is talked about in my Philosophy of Trading section. I quoted professional traders who talk about this issue. Bank traders will often Stop Hunt for quick profits when they see those tight stop losses. They are after the big fish but you get caught in the net.

Tradestation also has added fees for use of the platform. It is only worthwhile if you trade large sums of money and that is the market they want now.

I am an American citizen and they cant take USA citizens. I live in China and can use my Chinese address but I wont be staying much longer so it doesnt do me any good. Now if they take USA citizens I am interested but the cost of transferring money then becomes an issue. CitiBank should do. I am waiting on two more checks from brokers closing all my accounts and then I will just have the one.

I have used Global Prime demo and then inputted a live account from another company. So I am using their platform but not their feed. They have worked just fine.

When you have a trade going it shows the break even line. It is the ask price when you dont have a trade going.

Thanks Bob, I am an Mexican citizen with cowboy Cowboy IBFX based on Australia and liked the feature capability of hedging and no FIFO but a simple mortal not able to trade .05 lots yet plus dont like FXCM and the play station or whatever.

Please keep us posted of how you feel when you start trading with CITIBANK.

A stupid question about Global Prime... do they have .01 lots to trade? Thanks again.
