i was literally about to post about this same topic!

i think it would be handy to have these parameters - grid spacing (distance between multi trades) and grid offset (offset from the round numbers)

because the price can often swing at those round numbers, it doesnt really make sense to open trades there.

Rollercoaster ride so far this week.

The 'headline' figure is + 330, but what this hides is a fairground ride.

First HGB made lots of pips. Then he gave them back again. Now he is regaining the lost ground.

He was just a few points away from a margin call at one point. In a way, I am sorry that the mc did not materialise; there are traders who use the mc as a stop loss and I was curious to see how GP would handle this one.

Currently the overall position today is a shed-load of open trades, a closed pl of +202 but a dd of c. -700 and a margin level of 128%. :o

No guys, I would not even bother to have nightmares about trading like this. I am starting to think about what to do about existing pending trades once the margin level drops below the level chosen in the margin level inputs - currently disabled. Probably deletion, but I am thinking about it. We shall see.

In brief, GP is great.

When 100% margin level is breached (to the downside), it culls the biggest losing trade [ which, when you have many +ve floating trades, is the smallest positive trade :) ].

I like this scheme better than the one of just killing all open trades as many brokers do, since it gives the remaining trades a fighting chance (when you are being MC'd because of DD!)

Thanks dudest. So yes folks, be not afraid to overtrade on your GP account. Yet again, GP comes out miles ahead of the so-called 'competition'.

Still made over 950 pips today trading 12 pairs, leaving all positions open with 50 pip JS and closing some manually at reasonable profit. :party:

Jem has replied with his usual transparent honesty to my query about margin calls in our 'Introducing Global Prime' thread.

He has confirmed that in the event of a margin call, GP will close down the biggest losers to raise the margin level back above 100%.

So guys what this means is this: so long as you are following the mantra here of lots of tiny lot trades, then a margin call can be used as a stop loss. I do not actually recommend you do so, but it is an option.

Actually, I am doing so right now, but only on demo, ok?

It's very interesting to see how a different starting time effects the results of HGB.
Made more than 1800 Pips last week, didn't close the trade at the end of the week and gave approx. 70% of the profit back yesterday. Decided to open a new demo with HGI v.15.06 (because of the problems posted a few posts back) at 5p.m GMT and I'm again hitting a big DD (-500 pips and -700 floating pips).
Another day - another chance :cheer:
Already banked 2200 Pips today and more than +900 floating.

kinda overtrading?! haha.. just love HGB :lol:
