Hi Dragos,

I think, I found one error in the EA. On my PC when it did not closed the orders and trades day before but as I wanted it opened next day orders. But when the previous day was finally closed it did not deleted the rest of open orders from previous EA (mostly from previous day but also from current day). I had to close it manually.
It is not maybe the most important thing but if you can put it on your "fix it" list.

As it is my first post here I would like to say BIG THANK YOU BOTH: Diermar and you Dragos for your hard work.

Yes, sometimes there are still some pending orders left ... and sometimes, when there are error messages "trading context is busy" the levels are not at the same exact levels as the other trades ... for me it looks like that the EA is recalculating if the first sending routine was not accepted by br0ker ... may be that is because it is sending too fast and too many orders all at the same time and not with a small delay between the orders, I´m not a coder, I dont know ...

Actually I think that the EA works quite good!
However If you can maybe answer I have one question. When I enter in lot multiplier the value of 0,01 it makes it 0,01 for first level, 0,02 for the 2nd level and 0,03 for the 3rd level. That's OK due to rounding, but the case is when I put the lot size of 1 lot, because it it makes it 0,75 for first level, 1,13 for the 2nd level and 1,70 for the 3rd level. I am curious why is that? For me it should be 1, 1,5 and 2,25. Correct me if I'm wrong.

if you trade with lot size 0.01 at first level and lot multiplier ist set to 2 that means that level 2 is with 0.02 (2 times level 1) and level 3 is 0.04 (2 times level 2)

if you trade with lot size 0.01 at first level and lot multiplier is set to 3 that means that level 2 is with 0.03 (3 times level 1) and level 3 is 0.09 (3 times level 2)

you understand this function?

I have lot level multiplier set to 1.0. I am testing the original strategy. Is this not the correct setting?

One other question Dietmar. Since you have been trading this style, have you developed a guideline for trade size per account equity? i.e. .01 lots per $200 or $500 etc?

Hy Mike,
well, you can use the settings what you prefer ... for me it works best with 2.0 ... but you must have a sharp look at your account size ... and this EA is not a "24/7" leave it alone EA ... the most important thing for this EA is the starting point. If you place it good, you can leave the EA alone for hours...

I do not trade it at a fixed starting time any more ... and not with fixed level setting. Now I trade it only after a pair is ranging some time and set the levels so that 1st level long and 1st level short is outside of the range. So the task is, to place it so, that the middle of range is also the middle of "Trap" ... not easy because the EA is not written for that. Sadly there is not way to enter a "middle price" in the settings ... and the EA takes always the open of the new (or actual) hourly candle.

Thats why I asked for some modifications for the EA ...

If you trade it the new way, it is a money printing machine ...

and do not overtrade ... for example a simple run (without bouncing up and down) and set level to 15 your account has to manage a drawdown of 950 pips ... so please use the smalles lotsize (vor example 0.01 for a 5000,-- USD account.

And only one pair at time ... not more if you have such a small account (5000,-- USD with lotsize 0.01)

PS: actual I have in AUDUSD a drawdown of 630,-- USD with lotsize 0.1 and lot multi 2.0 ... thats normal! your account must handle that ...

My multiplier was 1.5 so based on your calcultions for one lot it should go in this way 1lot, 1,5 lot and 2,25 lot. But for 1 lot it went that way 0,75 lot, 1,13 lot and 1,75 - and this is something I don't quite understand

Thanks for clarifying that, Dietmar. When I backtested it in Tradestation, it seemed extremely sensitive to the start time. That made me pretty uncomfortable and that was the main reason I didn't pursue it any further. Starting the trap after a ranging period, and putting the trigger levels around the range, makes a lot more sense to me. I'll have to try that. How long do you require it to stay in a range before you set the trap?
