perhaps there's a way to code into the EA that it'll check if a pair is trending or ranging by checking the CSS first. Or behave like we do.. check first the info page / CSS.. look at the lines's slope and direction and determine which pairs are trending and which are ranging, then decide which pairs to trade.

I don't know, would that be really hard to do? I've never coded in MQ4 I should start sometime :)

Is it possible to make the following two signals (pasted from the first post) optional?
Signal_Buy_Pending = Price > 240MA, RSI < RSILevelLow, CSS_H1 = Green or GoldenRod, CSS_H4 = Green or GoldenRod
Signal_Sell_Pending = Price < 240MA, RSI > RSILevelHigh, CSS_H1 = Red or GoldenRod, CSS_H4 = Red or GoldenRod
I think this may help in avoiding ranging market.

BTW, today I got several sell orders on GBPJPY and all of them closed with small loss, because of the ranging.

Hmm can give an example?

I think I got the part where it takes the correct trades working, problem is how to get it out of trades it is not supposed to take

Do you guys look at just the current bar, last closed bar or..?

Hi Kwanann, (is that your real name or forum handle :? )

i'm intrested in the Css H1 that you are following too as i have it in one of my ea as an entry point and the trend for it is derived from Css D1. I also saw you state that maybe the calcs for this in the EA are different than the calcs for the visuals to put on the charts, i observed this behavior too. But i'm really interested in getting the calcs right, which beats me somehow. So i'll have a look at how u have coded this.

As for the point quoted above, i don't see good tradeoff in taking trading decision based on the current and open Css H1 bar. Unless of course other parameters are very strong but that is a subjective point of view.

i have some inputs for this EA but will have to re-read the thread properly to see if they are covered or not. Cheers and all the best.

hi mcnish,

haha that's my real name. I was looking thru all the trades done by the EA and it seems most of the bad trades were because of the incorrect css calculation. just tried it out with a 15min css and it just gives me all zeroes. thinking of using icustom and see if that makes a difference

Make new profiles for every base-currency and allow them to trade manually after you checked the CSS infopage.

I have it currently on 41 pairs and it took four trades so far, all in EURSGT, CADCHF, and EURDKK

The EA took 4 real trades on EURCAD last night. I spotted a setup via YAD104 version 1.06, placed the EA on EURCAD, used MPTM Global with tightening % stop to manage while asleep. 3 winners, 1 closed manually for small loss. Time to go to the day job now.

Trick is to rinse and repeat now.
