Additions on Steve's EA:
- added dual mode - Normal (as it is) and DD Control
- EA switch to DD control when total basket is less then DD_Threshold. (used -5)
- Ea will store account balance in a variable as a reference when DD Control start.
- in DD mode, Trades in Profit are closed as soon as profit indicator goes under trading threshold.
-a trade is marked as being in DD if show a loss bigger then DD_Threshold/2. That pair is removed from trading indicator.
- new trades are taken if indicator shows new trade possibility. This will make room for some hedging cause new trades will hedge the bad trades due to correlation.
- All trades are closed if account equity goes equal or bigger then stored account balance.
- added a third pair in the list to get a visual info if DD works. If everything is Ok it should be removed back at how it was to save processor.

Non related: (in order to work on my system)
- changed how the infinite loop works. Before at every tick a new infinite loop was started while having a running one. I have no idea how crap t4 on windoze deal with an infinite running instances but on linux has obvious issues. I added a semaphore variable which is set to 1 when loop start. On every new tick will check if there another instance running and if yes will quit without starting a new instance.
- added max loop iterations for memory leak considerations and to allow to switch off the loop (set to 0)

Please note this is still experimental and will interfere with any other EA or trades. On DD mode will close everything as soon as your account will be on green whipping any other win from manual or other EA.

Hi! I uploaded the new version posted above. The EA is opening trades correctly but closes them prematurely, sometimes so early at: 0.03; 0.02; 0.01; -0.16;-0.09;-0.28; 0.45 profits.

Would appreciate if you could share your set file.

Hi,

I'm using defaults from Steve. I am aware about how this EA close trades. Unfortunately Brian did a lot based on his knowledge and not explaining so we have to come up with fixes.


I will look more into this week. This EA is based only on Steve's indicator so there are a few scenarios. (same for negative)

1) Pair XXX is already on top of indicator.. let's say with 35, EA will open a trade. Our trade starts to grow. Pair XXX will stay for some time on top, our trade will make some money.. the more it stays the more money will make. At some point it will start to decrease from top. Our money will start to decrease too. When trade show under 10 in indicator trade will be close is has positive balance.

1. a) pair XXX stays very long so when it is closed positive is substancial (ideal)
1. b) pair XXX stays some show some increase but when it close will show very little
1. c) pair XXX was started to decrease and when went back to 10 it was in DD so will not be closed.

2) Pair XXX start to increase from 0 and go over 10. If there are no ther pairs on top then EA will open a trade.

2.a) Pair XXX grows to a max amount then went back to 10. If it did't stay too much then when we close it it will show very little profit.
2.b) Pair XXX went back under 10 very soon or ranging around 10. This will generate a zilion of trades with 0.01 profit.

Probably more scenarios can be added but these are what concern me. Easiest to fix is 2.b where I can add some hysteresis.
To grab more money (1b, 2a) would need a TP, however if the TP will be taken is very possible to get the trade in DD...

Thank you for making this thread alive. I wish I can contribute to the EA's development, but I am not a programmer. I want to make some comment though on the threshold/tt mentioned, which if I am not mistaken adopted from an early post by someone from pages one which need a pair at least 10-20 pips on profit before considering a trade. After running the EA several times I seemed to noticed that it is not respecting/working along this defined parameters/logic as trades sometimes generating instantly. I might be wrong though. Suggest to look into this and you might consider the closing of the current candle on top of the most profitable pairs to add 10-20 pips to determine momentum.

PS: Perhaps you could also adopt Steve's feature of "Stop and Start" button (click hold & move) that was implemented in his " basket multi-trading robot" at ff. This will give you the option to stop the robot in sending trades and restart again when profits is at your side.

You traded this EA, totally hands-off, and got a 362% return in a MONTH!? With no worse than a 20% drawdown!?

And it seems to do it without hedging, too. So it looks like it's US-friendly?

So I've got TP = 12, SL = 48, TradingTimeFrame = 15 (also M15 chart but I don't think that matters), AbsoluteTime = 06:00, RelativeMode = false. But what is "bATAPROFIT" ? The closest thing I see if the "BaskerCashTakeProfit" input.

I have Lot = 0.1 but other than that and the inputs above, it's all default OOTB.
