I have setup 3 demos for this EA, a couple of small screw-ups at the beginning with the EA settings, but now it's good to go. Each demo is exactly the same, the only difference being trading time. I have setup each demo with every single currency pair available on the Oanda platform *now* trading with 0.1 lots 5 pips TP, 5 pips SL, Stoch TRUE and everything else OOTB. I know that obviously some pairs will do better than others in select time zones, but I wanted to run this test to see which currency pairs do the best. The EA's only trade for the first 3 hours of each TZ. Thus far the results are negative, but of course this is to be expected since the majority of the currency pairs it's trading aren't optimized for certain time zones.

Should be a good test, remix. I am running it OTTB on seven pairs during the first 61 minutes of the London open only. My demo is on EST time, so my daily open looks off relative to what I think should be the daily open at GMT 0 time, hence my suggestion on the offset function. I have to test this further, but it makes good sense to me not take trades that are too far from the daily open (if the pair has just moved in one hour the majority of its daily range, then that does not look favorable for an entry). I also want to look at not taking trades if the prior day had a very large range.

ATR feature might be good idea to filter out trades. The reason only first two hours of London is because to avoid trades too far away from daily open. Might be useful to be included when trading US session if no trades during London. Maybe user input to set the % ATR.

It works on all pairs nicely as long the spread is less than 2pips, better still 1pips so that the spread wont kill the trade. That's why we cannot run it on every pair.

I had coded a version with ATR when you posted an update, so I saved my version with ATR separately and copied your update over the top of my code. It will no take long to port the ATR stuff over.

You are thinking, apply ATR to London and NY sessions, in case the market moved sufficiently far from the D1 open during Asia to make subsequent trading unreliable? I am thinking about the update I shall have to make to post 1 once I have added this filter.

Hi all

I ran 'Scalp the Little Gits 1e' ootb for the first hour of the London session on all the usual 22 pairs just to see what would happen. The results were not good with all trades closing at a loss.

One thing I did notice was that the EA placed pending trades which were not filled until after the first hour was up. I am not sure if this is correct or should those pending trades also be closed at the end of the first hour?

Hope this help,

Looks like the EA in post 1 need to be edited to include the hard inbuilt spread limiter to 2.0pips max (or even 1pip :xm: ) to refrain some over enthusiastic traders from mucking around with all pairs kingdom come.

I clearly mention spread is crucial for the trade to survive. I am even testing out 3pip sl to see if I get better ratio only if the spread is less than 1pip. The idea of the game is to go for the kill for best set-up, not quantity.

Thanks for the reply Ds,

I actually thought I should post my demo test results as a warning that it is important to pick the pairs for each session. What are your thoughts on the pending trades that remain open after the time limit is up?

Thanks again and enjoying seeing this EA evolve :good:

I also had two pending orders that did not get deleted after the window for trading closed.

ds, I sometimes feel that I am howling into the wind here.

You couldn't take the occasional moment to glance at my posts, could you? After all, you answer every one else, however pointless their query is.

Wouldn't like to address this one, would you http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 020#p95020?

Or shall I leave development of this ea to you?

Lol Steve, I thought I already answered your query. Yes, it is good to have ATR filter for the EA. Only thing is not sure how many pips distance or percentage need to be set.

Maybe the traders can do the testing by keeping the pips distance or % ATR as user input.
