Post subject:  Trend Trading EA with Automated Loss Recovery
Attached is updated ALR Calculator 2.3.

The new columns show the lot size and the losses if stop stack for ALR 2.0 compared to original ALR.
Lot sizes are smaller and losses if stopping at the same number of legs are also smaller.
Thanks to Dewey for running through this and updating it.

Hi Spider,

thanks for the great effort you put into this and sharing with us!

I have a few questions about the robustness of the EA:
1- what is supposed to happen if the terminal crashes, and EA has to be re-attached?
2- What is the effect of changing the ALR settings such as TP Pips after ALR already kicked in?
3- What if a trade was closed by mistake? (Not a big fan on 1 click trading, but just asking)
4- if the EA started working and I have to re-attach it to a terminal on another PC? will it know which trades it has already opened/closed?

Great job Spider. I made a new ALR Calculator which uses the new numbers throughout so everyone can see what the risks are for different account sizes, number of turns, etc.
Ignore the parts colored in pink after the first tab--still have to update that part but theya re not important.

Hi kotsh

1. is already taken care of and ea will be able to get back on track from where it is left off with each restart.
2. is a big no no. Recommend that you close out the pendings and alr trades if you wish to do that.
3. most likely will mess things up.
4. willl be similar to 1.
We use incremental magic numbers to keep track of stuff so ea knows who is who as long as the magic numbers are set right.

Thank you again mate for sharing this.

Basically this is the non-hedging mode of ALR. If I remember correctly it was already discussed in the ALR thread as a work around for US accounts. I thought the central tenet of ALR was trading with no SL. Also the risk of slippage may increase by closing/opening positions at the same price level.

Is there anyway we can change the EA to a lower TF as 4H takes ages before opening a trade in realtime.

Yes...we figured this could be the non-hedging mode of ALR, but somehow we didnt go deep into it.
The math makes more sense than the original concept.
Yes. You can set trading tf, and all the tf information to a lower tf.

ALR2.0 Trade Manager will automatically manage any trade for the symbol with the same Magic number as the setting in the EA.
It will create a pending once there is a trade with the same Magic number, and this would be deleted if the trade was not stopped out.
Additional variable: ALR_AutoTPandSL
If set true, this ignores ALR_TargetPips and ALR_Zone, the target pips and zone pips are set according to the TP and SL of the initial trade.
If this is set false, the trade manager will automatically adjust the initial trade tp and sl to ALR_TargetPips_SameDir and ALR_ZonePips .
