Let me try that distance between trades... i haven't given it a go before
It is a bit of a double-edged weapon.

Yes, it stops the bot taking 13 trades within 5 pips of one another. On the other hand, when the market moves in the favour of those 13 trades, then high profits emerge quickly.

On t'other hand, a pair that moves in our direction builds up enough momentum to take the overall position to my chosen mptm global profit target quite quickly - twice today.

On t'other t'other hand, when a pair moves against us, the ea is not constantly taking trades that continually drag the overall position into the red.

On t'other t'other t'other hand, when a pair moves against us and the FB does not take out loads of trades as the market moves against us, then neither is recovery anything like so swift when there is a final move back in the direction of the trend.

Of course, the trend might be changing direction.........................

Lost the will to live yet? Welcome to my world.

Overall, I come down in favour of fewer trades. I have been doing this stuff for a long time and have blown a number of accounts through over-trading, and so have learned the benefit of not doing so.

We shall see.

Haha i got your thought process there...crystal :hi:

I would prefer as well the lesser risk of the 2 edges and prefer slow and steady gains everyday. I'm now set up for 10-20 profit-loss pip distance setting on the JPY7 demo.. 20 pips on distance to MA. This would be interesting.

I was also thinking about the thing you said if the trend is changing and we have positions open in between current distance to MA of let's say 200 +pips..... we would just hoping that our other pairs would offset the losses for this pair changing trend direction :D

Not yet

I will keep my demo going plain vanilla, my drawdown isn't hurting yet.

I'm just back home after sunning it up in Bali for the last 10 days and left my 2 FB demo's running unattended during this time.

The results are all based on the original version of the EA (just downloaded the latest one to update). Steve, I am seriously impressed with the robust nature of this bot to date and I even have it loaded on a handful of pairs on my live account and it is helping me dig out of a hole.

15min chart, started 24/8, starting balance $5000, trading 0.05 lots all other settings OOTB and using MPTM as per post 1.

hi fxozgirl, do you mind linking those two accounts with myfxbook and posting the widgets/links for them?

I'm curious to see how they performed overall with the lot size you are using for that size account.

Oops, my bad...I just noticed I put 0.5 lots, they're 0.05 lots.
I've already posted previously that 0.05 was too much for the M15 chart, given the large number of trades taken, but still survived ok. It would be unlikely that I would trade the m15 ever on my live account, but interested too test out the initial settings indicated by Steve.

The 1 hour time frame I really like and think that 0.01 lots per $1000 is quite manageable. I do have the bot on a handful of pairs on my live account tradng the 1 hr time frame. I'm really quite happy with the performance so far on this time frame, clearly the rate of trades and subsequent growth is a lot slower but more realistic to how I like to trade.

I will set up a couple of myfxbook accounts shortly and post the links.

Cheers
Shelley

Not jealous at all

My results for the last week or so. M15, 0.25 lots, 10K account, restricted hours (Frankfurt->17:00 UK time), 3% equity close. I have also treated this a bit more like I would if it were live - e,g, Sunday open I closed the few trades that were open manually as they were in profit and the gaps closing could have hurt.

The pip count etc is impressive but the DD Vs gain is ridiculously good!

I still want to see the EA properly stressed with a big trend swing for many pairs before I would go live with it (and at reduced lot sizes) but it is a fun ride so far.

Cheers,
Dave.

Would someone who can code mind having a look at the last release please as I set up a new demo, where I wanted to try out some manual filtering on H4 - so literally turn the EA off if certain conditions aren't met on an H4 chart but keep the logic the same as the M15 demo that is doing very well (TradingTimeFrame = 15).

So I loaded exactly the same settings as I have on M15 but have the EA on H4 timeframe charts. What I have ended up with this morning is multiple trades on the "H4" account with those trades taken being taken every 15 minutes e.g. GBPJPY short at 07:00, 07:15 & 07:30 etc. but no trades yet on my M15 original demo.

Every time I look at code it seems I waste people's time :?

Thanks,
Dave.
