Digging a little deeper into Pedro's Hurst system, Pedro sent me links to 3 training video from the programmer who introduced Pedro to Hurst trading. Pedro asked me to comment on the videos and pass on the links if I thought it was worthwhile.

Definitely interesting and worthwhile to see how this was derived and used. The system in the video introduces the time factor meaning it predicts how many candles forward to expect another turn point for exit or entry. This is really interesting. I think having watched these videos, that the programmers here could develop Pedro's indy to plot price level of next turn and time it is most likely to happen. Would be cool if a future indy somehow showed how this prediction changed over time as the indy updates maybe leaving a faded line behind. I find this updating is important info as it is telling you that the oscillations you are trying to trade are changing. One thing I do manually is put a mark at the cross of the two Hurst lines and then watch how this mark moves - this gives an indication early that the oscillation is changing as in growing bigger or even breaking out of the pattern. Anyway I recommend anyone wanting to know more definitely view these videos.

Lastly a big thanks to you Pedro, I really appreciate the opportunity to learn from your experience. You have made a great contribution to this thread. Who knows what the programmers will come up with from all this?

Not quite the same as a t3ma centered average from Mladen statements made later on where he clarifies his indicator from Baluda's. End of Edit.

It is interesting how concrete in his thinking a person can be and how that can limit his vision. I am very thankful to him for his code. He explains its limitations very carefully.

However other possibilities await.

Problems are solved however at a different level of understanding.

So we than end up with Gann Ribbons, HGI, CSS and Hurst. What sometimes seem like limitations become possibilities in the mind of a creative person.

Than other build on their creative ideas. So I often find myself at odds with concrete thinking. However without the concrete thinker we would not have the building blocks of creativity. Everybody is needed.

Edit ... Have a look at how many times Mladen has posted on TSD .... 22,820 times. Talk about a contribution.

Cheers, :)

Doug,

Thanks a lot for the post with the link to Forex TSD on Mladen's thread on TMA's etc. I took quite a bit of time and looked at the whole thread. Mladen certainly has a lot of expertise in that area. It was a great read. I realize now I know nothing compared to some.

I am questioning the indicator signals quite often and do not understand
The blue Wavy line indicates on your picture an exit of the +/-0.4 Channel or Range Exit or Trend Start.
The yellow Wavy line indicates on your picture en entry of the +/- 0.4 Channel or Range Entry or Trend End.
So far so good
From a process perspective I can only enter now a Trend, if I hadn't before and was out of Trend or in Range.
Your picture, 2 posts ago, enters a down trend (blue) at ~Dec 4th and reenters an uptrend at Dec 16th without going through the +/- 0.4 channel or a range period. How could that be? I think it cannot be and the lost yellow Wavy line actually confirms this argument. But why did it get lost?
I just wonder Mike
My guess is that for some reason the circumstance that should trigger the Trend end was missed due to rapid change in price, so instead of trend end, we go direct into trend start.
If it was an EA tracking this, it might have caught the Trend End, before it was swapped in the same candle.
Manually, if we are trading this and are expecting a Trend End, but see a Trend Start in the opposite direction...then it should be taken as equivalent to a trend end.
Just my guess...

Cheers
Hi Mike and Spider X,

The yellow wavy line is there. Need to shrink the chart a bit.

Regards

Never mind, someone noted. Apologies

Hi all,

It is completed.
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 69#p108269

Please help to check if the rules are correct and see if anything else is needed.
If possible, please compare this with your manual setup and see if it is trading the same manner.
The display outputs the current MA values and HGI inputs, so it should match.

Cheers

Hi Pacinvest,

Thank you to yourself and Pedro for sharing these videos. I am intrigued by the software platform shown in the videos. A quick search in google yielded no results as to from where the program originated.

I do share your vision whereby we could have the potential to add to this increasingly powerful Matrix/HGI/Hurst combo. Not only can we determine whether we are in trend/consolidation but could possibly have a way to see where price is heading to and when. This surely would be immensely powerful. Just for my curiosity, meanwhile, do you have any information on who the person hosting the videos is?

Thanks

Matt

Not having the coding abilities of others, I too have searched through the many Forex forums for those applications and indicators to find the same. Most of the time it is done with very good intentions but somehow does not quite hit the button you want it to. HGI and the Hurst project has finally achieved what you need it to do.

To all involved with the creation of HGI and Hurst project.
Thank you. Your Persistence has come shining through.

Have a great Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
Now we will all have less searching for "those indicators" and more applied trading to do in 2015!

Thank You again. :D
