Hi AGT, All,

I am also bewildered by what i find happening.

I have used a comparison tool and can confirm that the EA that buys and the EA that does both is identical.

I took the EA thats always winning and copied/pasted it in the experts tab of the ECN global crim.

I am running two demos for TG, one is on ECN Global Prime (this one buys and sells) and the original is on a dealer desk ava crim (non-ECN), and this one just buys. Its ALWAYS winning and cant for the love of boodle figure out what is different. I've changed one more setting on the ECN crim to see if i can get the buys only going with zeljko, but this is now departing from the set file posted on page 2, but i feel i had to post a little early after reading the comments above.
Will post when i can see some reasoning behind why some of us are getting only buys and then other setups have both. very strange.

Here are the two demos, very different results and some just dont make sense.

Looking at the attached pic, they are from the ECN crim that is not showing good results so far. I really dont think its the crim because other demos i use with the same crim are trading correctly and doing well.
The highlighted closures were not supposed to close. There is nothing in the settings that allow them to close and again, the comments dont indicate why it closed, like SL or TP or anything that would be indicative so we can check the code. This is from the very same EA that is running on the ava crim with the same settings originally. The EA's are identical when compared and also when compared to post 1 download.

Any ideas what else we can check?

Have you worked out why you two Trendy Gary EA's are behaving differently..... I can see the EA that is trading both directions is in DD, however the other that is buying has only just yesterday had it's first loss....

Any clues....?

Oh, i know you have been flat out on xMeter, so you may not have had a chance....

@dudest.... I agree with you that if it's not broke don't fix it, however Steve has already conceded that the EA is not working as designed, so it not a SuperTrend EA at the minute, it's something else.... If people are still running this EA, could you post some results please....? Regards Wiggy

Oh, I have had a quick look back through the thread and can see some peoples MYFXBOOK demos....We appear to have some mixed results, some are in DD and at least one seems to be going ok....;-/ Wiggy scratches head ;-/

Wiggy Hi Wiggy, Its my work thats getting the better of me and Xmeter is doing great, just trying to update everything whilst comparing all the platforms like i do with all the EA's. Okay, as i mentioned before, my original TG still has not lost a trade, you must be looking at the wrong demo account. The original currently has 1 large DD of 2k odd on GBPUSD, a buy as usual, but Generally that terminal is really doing well. I tried copying the exact EA and set file just in-case, and pasting them into other terminals but no luck. The new terminals perform dreadfully. I tried changing the code and removing the all pivots and in some cases, just using daily, monthly or weekly. Always remembering that we want no SL or TP's anywhere, just the BE and the JS to function, whether internally or through MPTM. The EAs still trade but not successfully. Indi is always in my indicator folder and judging by the Steves loathing of indis, i was wondering if anyone familiar with STrend could look at that code and see if the EA is picking up gibberish from it, as everyone seems to be experiencing varrying results. Am i nuts again asking a coder to look at an indi? Really havent gone back to this one for a few days as i think i'm starting to accept that its the luck-of-the-draw here and no one can pinpoint whats causing this. Code looks right in the EA. Ive also tried ECN and dealer desk with fixed and moving spread criminals, but no luck. I have run out of ideas here guys. Sorry. cuz

Thanks Cuz, Your comment about the code is interesting as Steve has conceded in an earlier post that it's not right, however he does not want to change it give it appear to be making money for some people....Although, I'm not sure i would put my hard earned on it just yet.... i asked if Steve would be interested in making a second version of the EA that trades as per Gary original concept, but i have not heard back as yet....The reason i asked this as i am very interested in Gary original concept and would like to see and EA that trades as per his idea.... i was almost tempted to see if out friend (jlcgarcia) from the xMeter project would be interested in looking at this, as from what i can see, he is a machine and could write this from scratch in no time, so correcting some sfuff should be a no brainer....However i thought that might be a bit cheeky and i don't really know what the protocol is for that kind of stuff.... Also, when i spoke about the TG demo that appear to have taken its first lose, it's the link you posted earlier in the thread...see just below....if this is not the one, could i look at the one that has not lost a trade.....? Oh, do like you work on the xmeter, my demo has closed to trade for -7 and +24 pips....and it currently has Kiwi and EJ long running at the moment... Regards Wiggy

Hi Wiggy, heres the link, look at the rest of the demos and you'll see where im trying the various versions of TG. Follow the link in my signature for the list and details. This one has not lost to date, 24 Jan. The growth started when i increased the lot size to a full point from 0.01 as this is a 100k demo. regards cuz

Cuz, i was kinda right....look at the trade history, one loss for -$6.45, i assume that is swap...? it seem to close for a 10pip win, but swap put it into negative... This thing is very odd....;-/ Wiggy

Hi all, Thanks to AGT for noticing TG is almost a 100 straight wins..just that one 0.1 position spoils it. heres something that came up from that one single loss this EA has had so far. Heres my concern, if you scroll to page 2 and 3 of the results pages, you'll see the only one where it lost, its a 0.10 position and the loss was only because of the neg swap. I have no idea how that happened and there are no settings for a 0.1 position anywhere. Then , look for the 0.5 lot size position, there are 4 or 5 of them on page 2 and 3. These were part-closed positions, and again i have no idea how a part-close happened here. Its worrying me and even though its looking so good, there seem to be weird bugs in the code. I cannot figure this out at all. Empty4 maybe? crossing between terminals on the same computer? i have no idea, but GDAY 2 is on the same computer and the only one that does do part closing on the PC but only in 1/3's. http://www.myfxbook.com/members/cuzgeor ... rum/462243 I have had no success with trying to emulate this performance on GPrime crim and also on my regular crims. I get some success with Buys and Sells, and then a few losses after that, very strange. The EA was copied and pasted straight from the winning platform and after it wasnt winning i tried HardCoding changes like removing all the pivots and not using any Pivots. I get trades, but very mixed results. Might have to give up on this one if as the characteristics vary so much from terminal to terminal. No consistancy and all the good things from the winning terminal are not apparent on the new terminals. Like only trading once per pair, waiting for the trend to turn with out closing the positions. I like these characteristics and have never got the situation where it has overtraded the account. The EA performs differently on other terminals. Can someone make a call for me as i dont know if i'm just wasting time here or should i carry on with the winning one only.? regards cuz

Hi Cuz, I tried real hard on different br0kers, but could never get results close to yours. Very different results on different terminals. I have basically given up on TG; maybe if it's peculiarities are identified, I may consider giving it another go. Cheers
