Wow.

I decided to take the plunge and put HGB on my tiny live account, about 10 minutes before the AC plunge. Half an hour or so later, the account was c.40% less tiny. :clap: :clap: :clap:

HGB has knocked off for the day and I will not trade tomorrow - no sense in giving all that profit back.

In common with a few of you, the move knocked out my demo account. We now know that using a margin call as an emergency stop loss is a bad idea in a fast moving market.

Events today prove yet again the old adage, that timing is everything. :lol:

Live, I had my margin level protection set to 400%. HGB duly opened no more initial trades once the margin fell below this figure.

News 'events' were actually news non-events for a couple of years. Even NFP raised little more than a yawn. Recent evidence suggests that this has changed and news releases are again releasing shock-waves into the Forex markets - worthwhile bearing in mind when deciding to trade or not.

I had 5x open positions all in wrong direction. My live account has grown to 10% DD :arrrg:

I was doing so well lately. And stop loss would not have helped as the market gapped. There is no hope of any near term recovery so what to do? I am sitting on 2% account damage per trade so to trade another day i should just close out and move on.

like some of you here today my account is in meltdown :(

i still have 3 open chfjpy shorts .....what to do ? .....should i wait and hope for some retracement in price ?

still a large spread on my account ....Global Prime...live...and if i close now i lose 70% on my account !

feeling that i have been somewhat stupid about getting myself in this situation :oops: .....but will beat myself up after dealing with these trades
anyone else still got open trades ?....any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated guys....thanks
