CJ, You posted a chart of AUDJPY yesterday. Can I ask you about your annotation?

I had the same two Daily-TF? moves (marked in Red) on my chart - so far so good -

On my own chart I had however mapped another level move in front of the two Reds (I marked it Green to make it easier to talk about it).
In my original counting I made the Green move1, and then Red move2 and Red move3, with the bottom and PeakLow in September. Such a count would mean that we started a Daily TF UP.

Obviously you assess the PA that I marked Green differently and not equal to the two Reds. I had my doubts and a '?" against my counts as the Green took 7 months while the Reds each took 2 months. But I failed to 'see' the June peak as a new PeakHigh with the start of counting there.

1. What was your reason for not assessing the PA I marked Green as a first move down on a Daily TF?

2. Do you have/use rules for how long W, D, 4H moves take for different currency crosses?
Or is it just 'experience' to see to which TimeFrame a certain 'PA structure' belongs?

Thanks for the kind words now on to the charts.... we must always look above and below the chart that we choose to annotate as there are other stories being told there. If you look at the charts I post, you will see the levels remain the same, no matter if you count the PH as the actual PH or the PH from the retrace of level 1. The drop from level one starts from the PH of the retrace, not the PH of the cycle, but either give the same level count to level 2...

Look at the charts and I think you will better understand this...

Thanks CJ, the annotated charts helped.
So don't count a 'level' as a 'new level' if:
1 - the 'new level' does not meaningfully differ from an earlier level (where 'meaningfully' is an assessment based on the TF that you are looking at. With 800 pip drops on a Daily TF, a 100 pip difference between my Green and Blue level was not meaningful ... hence no separate level)
2 - look at higher TF charts if you see previously established levels to the left and see if you need to reassess counts.
3 - PH is not always to be construed as 'Cycle PH'. Be aware that you need to consider other PH's and look at higher TF chart.

Right... and now back to post 1 of the thread to re-evaluate my previous understanding of your teachings and annotations in past charts with the information above.

I am sure I will get there, but at times I just see too many patterns within patterns, etc., When things are not bloody obvious, I am getting lost in assessing which structure belongs to which TF. E.g. is a pattern a fast D pattern or slow H4 pattern, etc. And is a level a D level or a H4 level.
I guess I have to sort out my 'assessment' of the 'granularity of TF'-fit of the patterns that I see by practicing even more.

It is exciting to see how others use their own selection/adaptation of your teachings in their own successful systems. But it is good to get back at times to the fundamentals of the original CJ system, especially where it pertains to H4 and D levels and trading from the edge of larger cycles.
