Surely I can't be the only one who feels this way? I just thought this should be cleared up once and for all.

"Loser", the opposite of, "Winner".

"Looser", the opposite of, "Tighter".

Please don't confuse the two. Thank you.

:) This is cool... by the way, aren't we missing an acronym dictionary where OOTB, OCCD and the rest could be explained for rookies? For me it was hard to find the meaning of these in the FF jungle.

Not everyone on internet is a native english speaker ;)
Some bend over backwords to speak YOUR language because you don't understand a word from theirs :)

Yep! Know the feeling!

40 years ago I was working with an old doctor from Hunan province in China. I didn't speak Chinese. He didn't speak English. He taught me that our attitude to life is everything... and we get to choose that attitude every second, of every minute, of every hour of every day!

Don't take it personally. This thread was started as a dig at born and bred native English speakers, who haven't even bothered to learn their own language properly.

A few yours ago, one of the families in our village was in the habit of boarding several Taiwanese children during the summer brea. Most of these kids played the piano and their parents were anxious that they should continue to have lessons, so they came to me.

They spoke little English. I speak no Chinese. We communicated through smiles and gestures. I gave my musical hints by pointing to the score and demonstrating.
