i'm new here so: good afternoon to all, this is me - boga
not really new but typically only reading, admiring, learning.
i've created an excel file that uses internet explorer automation to scrape some numbers out of some web pages, and so on... every 15 minutes. i didn't know how to do such things in Empty4. i guess YOU do
when calculation is finished, i have m15 data of rsi-like values showing strength between 0 and 100. comparing the values with price data is nice. but it would be great to visualize the excel results just below the Empty4 price chart.
i only found that post from gaheitman. looks good. but i guess there is a more pragmatic way and i'm sure there is someone who has done something similar before.
do you have - and don't mind to share - any hints/ snippets for an indicator that:
- loads (and reloads every 15m) its data from an excel or csv or text file?
- cares about time. since i can't let my excel run each and every 15m of the day, the data is missing some values.

This allows you to access excel from Empty4:

The first two options work by running a control script/ea in Empty4 that reads command files created by excel. Excel isn't really controlling the terminal.
If the last option works, you might even be able to use it to create the spreadsheet in the first place to do whatever calculations you need and then get the results to place the orders. Of course, with the last one you have to code all of the order entry code as well. I would think converting shelleynow wouldn't be too difficult (says the man who hasn't opened the file).
