I'm on the look out for a new broker to go live. Currently using GKFX spreadbetting here in the U.K went with spreadbetting initially as I didnt have to worry about the Tax, but the leverage is lousy 10:1 and the lotsize 0.1 is to big for me. I've pretty much decided now that I need to move either to another UK spreadbetter or a proper broker. If I go with a proper broker ( either FXCM or possibly Jem's Global Prime that ive just seen) how easy is it to deal with the Tax. I dont really want to have to get an accountant in to deal with it (unless I somehow manage to be making a large amount that I can afford to pay for one lol .) Is just a case of filling in the self assessment tax form or is it more involved than that ? Is there anyone else that manages there UK tax affairs themselves that could give me any tips ? Google "traders tax club". I think they have a £1 trial membership and use this week to read in the forums/ download what you need - there's a great document on their site called "Tax Planning for Forex Traders". I am not affiliated with this website but I have used it in the past |
