OK, it's not one of the usual currency pairs and it may not be something all brokers offer, but here's the H4 for XPTUSD. Does anyone know why it hits 1722 exactly? It's not a ceiling like the one set on the CHF, is it? |

Kinda looks like a price feed thing with their liquidity provider? If you look at a platinum futures chart there is none of that. I don't know platinum well, but I believe it is a rather thin market, so it's retail forex derivative could have an ugly chart? There was also a HUGE spike in volume earlier so this could represent fast market conditions. The question becomes if you put in a market order, could you be tagged by that off quote? Will they stop you out with it? Will they honor it if you catch it with a limit order? I'd be careful. Those spikes are specific to your platform and have nothing to do with the underlying value, imho. |

Those don't look like liquidity spikes. They all go to the same price. Something is fishy there. |

Thanks for the replies, guys. I forgot to mention, just in case anyone's interested, the chart is from FXCM. I've checked the volumes, thanks for giving me the idea. There are a few minor spikes but, funnily, the volume spikes don't correspond with those price spikes except on one occasion (the 3rd price spike). Let's do a limit order on a demo account and see what happens  |
