| Post subject: | Using ATR as a stop |
I'm quite new to trading and been reading about using ATR as a stop for initial trade stop. What I'm confused about though, is should the ATR stop be adjusted (assuming it's still not in profit with a TS) or just left where it is. I've been using ATRStopsv1.1 indicator on a H1 chart, let's say we make a trade at 9AM and set the ATR stop to 1.00 (nice easy number) as indicated by the blue line at that time of the trade. Now say in the next hour (10AM) the blue line rises to 1.01. Is the theory to adjust ALL previous trades to the current ATR (1.01) at that point in time (kind of like a trailing ATR I guess), or is it to leave the stops as they were (1.00) and just don't touch them, only setting new trades to the current ATR value(1.01)? |
