Empty4 Dilemma

Post subject:  Empty4 Dilemma
Something is going on with my terminals that has me completely baffled.
I'm currently running three demo platforms, which I minimized on the
taskbar before I left for work. When I got home, all three platforms
had disappeared. This has happened twice in the last two weeks.
At first, I thought it might have been the result of a Windows update,
but I have it set to notify me and not automatically download. Just
for reference, I am not running a UPS on my PC.

Comments and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I had similar problem once, turned out to be my virus software did an update and restarted the pc all by itself... Hope you get it sorted :-)

I just noticed that one of my terminals had an EA with a 130 order send problem. It
was persistent enough to peg my CPU to 100%. Don't know if this could be the cause
of the problem, but I thought it would be worth mentioning.

My suggestion was going to be a perfectly clean install of Empty4. Run it in parallel and see if it outlives the 3 demo platforms running all the junk.

I'd also look at the event log and see if you are throwing errors, or updates, or something interesting.

Could be lots of things, I've also had Empty4 misbehave and shut itself down. But this is 3-4 instances of it running 25+ charts each, with many many indicators, ea's, personal hacked up code to cause trouble. PC usually stays up happily.

Could be tricky, but start with a stable baseline, and add things back if it is possible. And of course check for automated updates, reboots, that might trigger while you are away.

Thank you for your help. I think I may have found the problem. I always have Windows notify
me when updates are available, so I can download/install them manually. I forgot that when I recently formatted my HD, that it would default to automatically download/install. Hopefully,
applying the change to notfication, only, will do the trick.
