Hello Everyone,

I am testing an EA on different Brokers US and Non-US.

Today there was a MAJOR down trend spike in GBP/CHF.

With two new Demo's , FinFX and OANDA there was a Margin Call on FinFX and the biggest losing Trade was knocked out.

I noticed that OANDA had no Margin Call.

MMMMMMmmmm, FinFX 200:1 Leverage and OANDA 50:1 Leverage?

I call OANDA and find out that they do not have Margin Calls on Demo Accounts!

Following please find the negative feedback that I have written to them.

"Hello,

I thought you would like to know that you are THE ONLY BROKER that does NOT HAVE MARGIN CALLS on your Demo Account which is DISHONEST!

Demo Accounts are supposed to reflect as close as possible the real Trading conditions at a chosen Broker.

You are MISLEADING Consumers with Demo Accounts into thinking their Money Mgt. and/or Trading Style is sound.

Also, you have WASTED MY TIME due to my testing an EA on different Broker Platforms.

There was a huge downward trend surge today with GBP/CHF so your not having ANY Margin Calls makes any statistical analysis for my EA POINTLESS!

Your not having Margin Calls on Demo Accounts is a deceptive practice and I will be passing this information along to most of the Major Trading Forums."

Please folks, if your Broker Demo Accounts do not have Margin Calls then how can you get any truthful statistical analysis for your Trading Practices or your Money Mgt.?

I have deleted OANDA.

These are the kind of Crims that would sell a Rat's asshole to blind man for a Wedding Ring.

I agree they should accurately implement margin calls on demos.

But I don't think you should rely on margin calls for your analysis! IMHO you should never be trading live in a situation that could cause a MC, so why would you want to run your demo tests in that mode?

Gary,

I am analyzing which Currencies run best as well as lot size and/or % of Balance.

With FinFX I had a Margin Call so the highest losing Trade was knocked out but I am still up 12% on the first day with this Demo.

My Cowboy IBFX Demo is up 74.53% with 18.71% DD in under 3 months run.

I do not "rely" on Margin calls but need to see what Settings and Currencies are the most prudent to use with this EA.

For instance all JPY Pairings are profitable but not worth the Risk to Reward Ratio!

I also want to see how the EA survives a hit like this Mornings spike on GBP/CHF!
