Does anybody know how to do this? I have an indi which works on the say H1 timeframe, but needs data from D1 and W1 as well. Often when I put it on the H1 chart, the Empty4 hangs when it doesn't find enough data on D1 or W1 (I believe). I have to kill the whole app and restart, clearly unacceptable. Is there anyway to force it to download the additional data necessary? This could be a useful general purpose subroutine. |

hey matt...... if you run a indicator or ea that requires data on another time frame and/or pair, it should download the needed data..... or at least mine do....... as example, the Fahrenheit 451 ea on the chart below keeps the 7 timeframes current on every pair..... it has to cause it trades them all..... a quick check of the history files verifies this..... that ea could be written as an indicator and do the same.... there are times when some complex dashboard type indicators i've written will hang the platform..... this more often than not is due to there being insufficent bars available to do the calculations even though all available bars are loaded..... the gbpaud monthly chart is one such..... only 15 bars available total.....h |

If you make a call to iBars() for each currency and time frame, it will download 2048 bars if there is no history. Once you have history, it should work fine. See http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =205#p4668 for more info. |

Yup I found that out. I printed out iBars() to try to find my bug, and magically the problem went away! Thanks alot Empty4. You make the Chewbacca Defense seem sensible to Mr Spock. |
