Morning folks,

Has anyone reviewed their trading journals and found that trades that are perhaps borderline with your strategies often happen to coincide with periods where you have a little more spare time?!

I'll be honest, I have identified this with my trading in the past. Blowing a couple of accounts has tamed that beast, however I find myself gripped in the jaws of temptation once again as I have just broken my leg! :roll:

Positives: Minimum of two months to really study and practice the endless volumes of knowledge on here.

Negatives: My platforms pretty lights are flashing at me.....

The next few weeks are going to be one heck of a discipline test :|

Yes, from my sight, a Trader has to master discipline and patience. Then trading can be something like a meditation. To stay focused, awaken, ready to act in no time ... but totally relaxed, watching the charts and waiting for the right moment to enter, 100% according to the personal trading plan (like a Sniper).

Always keeping in mind: to be -not- invested is very often the best, a wise trader can "do" ;)

That is also "trading" ... not only pressing buy and sell buttons.

Well, that could be the reason, why trading with or by Expert Advisors is so attractive for many people.

Make a thread for your strategy and post every setup you take.. Best thing for discipline IMO.

SL & TP help but not following you're trading plan due to bordem is the main culprit. Posting your trade setups don't help either, trading 0.01 microlots seems to work for me and if I take a couple of small losses like this, it should remind me to stay out.

Thanks all for the response, all sound advice. I shall try to give a little back to this forum with my spare time and participate a little more (better hope I don't become a nuisance on CJ's thread!).

I have also just switched to a micro account to use whilst I'm laid up, means I can practice some new methods/systems from here in relative safety.

Just need to find some handcuffs now... :lol:
