George, the indicator is an alert implementation for the TDI indicator used in the Trade Made Simple System from FF.... The cross of the two smoothed versions should be below threshold..

Plugged it on my charts - seems that not all signals are generated - have attached two charts, see the blue rectangles - rbetancor, your time permitting, could you have another look please.

Have attached a TDI indicator for easier visual confirmation as well....

The code that rbetancor posted verifies that the signal value is still below the threshold after the cross. That makes sense, since it is the fastest moving value. In at least the first example you noted on your charts, the signal value was no longer below the threshold, so it didn't print.

So, are you actually looking for the two smoothed values (signal and trade) to be below/above the thresholds prior to the cross?

Hi, would it be possible for an experienced coder to add a condition to the attached indicator, coded by Xaphod over at FF. I contacted him directly but he is too busy with other projects.... I like a condition to be added that the arrow, indicating a cross of RSI and trade line, is only printed when: a) cross down occurs above 68 b) cross up occurs below 32 in order to reduce the amount of signals Thank you very much in advance Mop

One question, the indicator uses 6 different points to make it's decision. The RSI, and two smoothed versions of the RSI on both the current bar and the previous bar. The actual cross is between the two smoothed versions. Which numbers do you want above/below the threshold? Looks like rbetancor beat me to it (nice job making it an extern instead of hard coding it!). That version tests whether the current bar's first smoothed value is above/below the threshold. Is that what you want? George

George, thanks for looking into this for me - much appreciated.... Not sure which part of 1st image you reefer to but I assure you that the cross of green / red in TMSWatchDog sub-window was below 32 level (first blue rectangle - 2011.11.03-0800) Cross-over of the green/red smoothed lines themselves should be below 32 (green cross up over red) and above 68 (green crosses down below red) Thanks again

George That's what allways happens when people does not see the difference between 'what your eyes see' and 'what the computer calc' ... mobthehop, just an advice about indicators and EA ... don't try to go agains the maths, the computer will allways be on the right side

Guys.... embarrased mmmhhhhh.... Well, the way I use this indicator and cross signal, which might NOT be as it was intended: 1. As per image posted by George, the cross happens at a value <32 2. If I correctly read the code of TMS-Osc Cross, section "// Check for cross signal" "// On new bar do the following", it should draw an arrow on opening of next bar, and probably I am not, then there should be an arrow in the first blue rectangle 3. I am not sure how to interprete rbetancor's comment but I verified (hovering mouse over cross on 2011.11.03) a value of 28.0085 - for what it is worth.... Sorry to be a pain.....

As per image posted by George, the cross happens at a value <32 Yep, the intersection of the two lines occurs below 32, but we can't read that value since it is between candles. We see the two values before and the two values after. We can tell they cross since on the last bar the red line was above the green line and that is now reversed on the new bar. That's why I wanted to know which of the readable values you wanted below 32.
