Has anyone here used or have experience with this tool from forexsb.com called Strategy Generator? I became intrigued after seeing a profitable signal provider on ZuluTrade/ZipSignals:

He posted a YouTube video where he shows various statistics regarding his strategy and you can see Strategy Generator in the background. I created his strategy as best I could (you can't see all the parameters). It did perform very well over a 5 year period.

Now he has 6 very clean consistently profitable months on ZuluTrade, and his strategy looks sound to me. He only uses 2 open trades at a time which is very disciplined compared to most ZuluTrade providers. The drawdown has been very good as well. Not saying this strategy will win forever, but I'm impressed and I have analyzed hundreds of ZuluTrade signal providers in my time losing money there :)

I know you guys code your own EAs which are far more complex than anything you can make with this strategy generator, but I still wonder if anybody has any information about this. I wonder if perhaps a sound H1 or H4 strategy could be developed using this tool and constantly optimized so that the parameters remain "fresh" and applicable to recent market conditions. The strategy generator has a sister tool called the strategy trader, which connects to Empty4 using an EA and makes the actual trades. I'm going to setup some VPS demo accounts for testing, but just looking for any info I can find.

Also I did contact the signal provider and asked about Strategy Generator. Here is the response I got, although not exactly specific :)

Now I trade improved version of the strategy shown in the video. Stop loss is reduced to 130-135 pips. The video shows the evolution of the main position, but my system provides under certain conditions, the detection of two trades. In fact, the second position acts as a crutch, which improves the final result. The Optimal (F) system is leverage 1-44, but for me it is a risk that borders on insanity. Your maximum risk per trade must be 5% (0.1 lot / $ 2000 account). Best 2-3% (0.1-0.15 lot / $ 5000 account)!"

can you share a bit more information on what you did?...resp. i didn't saw in the user manual , if one can use custom indicators for his strategy...

Ughh well that's not good. I guess he was afraid after my message that somebody would try to steal his strategy, but then again that video was made back in October so maybe it was just outdated. I'm more interested in the strategy generator itself. I was hoping he would give me a few hints about how he successfully used it but instead he deleted his youtube account lol.

Cado, I've been playing with this strategy generator for a week and have learned an awful lot. Unfortunately, none of it tells me whether any strategy I've generated will be profitable in the future. I can only forward test to see. As for the guy's strategy, it was based on H1 time period, it had a set TP (~30) and SL (~150). It had about 7 opening conditions. The ones I recall from memory- Unknown moving average rising, only open trades during the 18GMT hour, bulls power above a certain level, williams something-or-other above a certain level, and a few other ones I can't remember.

I generated similar strategies without too much effort but his strategy looked very optimised in the video (extremely smooth upward curve over 5 years- I haven't been able to come up with a strategy that clean yet, but I have come close. You may need to be patient as the computer needs a lot of CPU time during optimization and generation. Anyway, again if anyone has any information or experience with this tool, I would love to hear about it.

sorry, later on i saw that there is a posibility to turn a customer indicator to C#, so that the programm can use it...but one should learn first, how it works...

i like FSB/FST its a powerfull system, but be aware of curve fitting :o its so easy to tweak the indicator settings when you knows the history data :mrgreen:

For an interesting (but hella expensive) strategy generator, see http://www.tradingsystemlab.com/

Futures Truth magazine monitors and forward-trades publicly-available systems, and TSL has the #1 trading system overall, and the #1, #2, #3 S&P systems since release date. He's doing something right. He says it works on forex as well as on futures and stocks.

Unfortunately it's $40,000 for a 2-year license...

Considering it is freeware product, I agree with you.
