We now have a EA! :D It does need a bit of tweaking (removing tp and user friendly settings customization). Big thanks to FxJuju! :D

BUFU Trend Following System

Indicators:

DoublecciWoody
Trend CCI 236 - Serves as the trend.
Entry CCI 61 - Serves as the last entry parameter.

Heiken Ashi Smoothed (HAS) - The settings below are an exact duplicate of the Heiken Ashi Exit indicator. Which is a lot slower and better imho.

HAS settings as follows:
MaMetod - 1
MaPeriod - 40
MaMetod2 -1
MaPeriod2 -1

All In One Signal Indicator BUFU_Trend_Signals.v1.2 - This simplifies the process to waiting for a signal and entering a trade.
Note: This indicator needs the Heiken Ashi Smoothed linked below to work properly.

Trading

1H charts only taking trade when HAS, 61 CCI, and 236 CCI agree.

Example

Buy Signal:

1. CCI 236 above 0, HAS turns green, CCI 61 above 0 enter at candle close.

Sell Signal:

1. CCI 236 is red, HAS turns red, CCI 61 above 0, enter trade at candle close.

Taking Profit, Stop, and Exits

25 pip stop works great for NZD/USD.
If HAS gives a signal in the opposite direction of Trend CCI 236 exit at next candle if HAS is till giving an opposite signal.

Here are the results of manually back testing NZD/USD 1H over a 10 month period April of 2011 to current.

The rules were as if this were being mechanically traded with a 25 pip stop. Take profit and early exit when HAS gives a signal opposite to CCI 236.

Ready?

Positive pips: + 4722
Negative pips: -1334

Total profit: +3388 pips

For an average of 338.8 pips per month.

Losses ranging from = -3 to a max of -25
Profits ranging from = +3 to +472

Largest string of losing trades = 6
Largest string of winners = 3

Total trades about 100.

I think the HAS repaints -- but only for multi-TF charts? Is it safe to visually backtest on just H1 charts?

HAS only repaints the current candle/bar. This is why the system is set up to enter if conditions are met at the start of a new candle. Not sure what you mean by "is is safe to visually backtest on just 1H charts" I only trade 1H charts. Although I do take note of risky areas like monthly highs and lows. Any higher TF should do just as well if not better with BuFu but anything lower hasn't been tested extensively.

This system was built around the 1H chart movements on 8 different pairs. I went through about a years worth of 1H data for each pair. Open up any major pair and you'll find that almost weekly there is a 100-200+ pip move. After noticing this I wanted to catch the majority of those without trading the range. That is how and why BuFu was created.

I meant that it should be safe to visually backtest if your indicator is only looking at the H1 timeframe. Lots of people like the MTF HAS, which shows values on e.g. M30, H1, H4, and they only trade when all 3 TFs line up. But the higher-TF HAS indicators repaint. So if you're displaying an H1 chart, you might look back in history and see lots of nice signals when the 3 HAS TFs line up. But in realtime it wouldn't have looked the same because the H4 HAS would have shown different values in realtime than it does in the history.

I don't think that's a problem if you're only looking at one TF, e.g. H1.

Sorry about the confusion. I got mixed up about the MTF.

Here are two examples of how BuFu has done this month.

EUR/USD: +307 http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j3 ... 222222.png

FX Juju was nice enough to code most of the EA attached to post one. If anyone can help with adding stop loss and exits I'll be vary grateful.
