Before I go and code this, wondering if it already exists.... On a single chart, I would like the pairs displayed along with the 1 minute and 5 minute volumes. I would also like to show the pair with the highest 1 and 5 minute volume for the current tick. Ever heard of such a indicator? I want this so I can find the pairs that are moving quickly for manual scalping. Once I find a baseline code, I will integrate the rooicol market pace indicator (hear the market ticks) to sound the current 5 minute winner of the highest volume. |

Here is the first hack at this. If you scalp - this tool would be used to find the active pair. You could also watch and be alerted to any breakouts - if you switch to the chart fast enough you can make some easy pips on the momo. You can select 3 time frames to monitor the "volume". Volume isn't exact like it is in stocks. It's good enough for what we need it for here. Volume is actually tick count. It will display the volume for up to 3 time frames, sorted with the highest volume on top, and update and re-sort. Run it at different time of the day - you might be surprised to see what pairs have the most active ticks at any time. It goes in experts/indicators. I'm also updating the the "Market Pace" indicator so it only sounds the tick on an active chart. So I use this indicator to find the active pair - then open that chart and watch the tick chart, 1 minute chart, and hear the ticks. |

Brian - you always come up with such interesting stuff! line 5 : #import "SymbolsLib.ex4" - is that needed as I do not seem to have it in my GP demo install? However my sub window is populated with JPY pairs and Gold at time of writing.... Would it be possible to allow positioning of table in main data window as well? Hi mob; Thanks! I "borrowed" the code from http://codebase.mql4.com/6134 That file SymbolsLib.ex4 is produced by Empty4 when you change the MarketWatch screen to select the pairs. You can read the link above, even if your not a coder it might make some sense. I was just looking for a way to get the list of pairs because typing them in is to much work!! lol Yes, it is possible to put this in the main window. I quickly tried it and had some errors I need to deal with. Do you code? If so, give it a shot. If not, let me know and I'll get around to it sooner or later! This will be part of my scalper toolbox I might post when I've got it fine tuned. |

Brian, thanks for your response.... and the link.... as I said, you provide interesting stuff... I will have a look at the code and see w/r I can manage to put in the main window I discovered the attached on FF the other day - quite resource hungry and suitable for GP (crashes my demo when adding the '.G' postfix) but it shows which pairs are moving over the selected tfs.... Thanks for this file! After a quick look, perhaps I'll redo the code. It looks like the sorting works much better. I'll add the spread, make the timeframes adjustable (why would you want monthly on this??) and fix the symbols list - get the symbols from the market watch window, and add max pairs to sort/show. I wonder what TF it used to sort (should be the first column) - so if the TF's are user input we can sort to the TF we want, make sense? Basically take the best from each file and make a better mousetrap. Can you tell me how you would use this and what you would like to see - and not like to see. I use it in the evening (EST) and in the morning (days off) to find the pair to scalp. Sometimes I'll find the "more" active pair and let the "market pace sound" indicator tick away until I hear something. BTW - are you a scalper? (scalping is just a part of my trading plan) |

After taking a closer look at Movers and Shakers, it's not based on volume but prices. Here is the indicator for the main chart. I don't have time to make the positioning of the text as a user input. Hope this helps you! |
