more than one Empty4 of same account

Post subject:  more than one Empty4 of same account
Hi Everyone,

I want to be able to launch 2 versions of the same Empty4 account on my PC. I know it has something to do with naming a different folder but im not very PC tech. Could someone very kindly help with an idiots guide to downloading more than one of same Empty4 brokerage exe files organizing them so I can open the same account in duplicate on my PC and they are independent of each other ? Hope this makes sense.

I checked the link, many thanks but it didnt answer my question. Ill try and rephrase I just want to load 2 platforms of same broker om my pc. Nothing to do with EA's . Thanks in advance.

this is easy you only have to install them in two different folders .. should work without problems..

Hi, How do I do that? save the downloaded exe file to the one suggested and then do it again and change folders name..I did say i was not pc tech savvy lol Cheers

you should both install in in the folder C: direct as the programms folder the programm proponed could give problems.
Create two news folder name the first C:mt4first and the the second C:mt4second at exp..., than let the install exe run two times and change the folders to your created folders in the install dialog.. done :)

I do it this way:::
I create several new folders in my C:
Then I go to Program Files (x86) ( usually there is where Empty4 are by default) and find the Broker Empty4 I want 2 or more instances.... copy the whole File (do not open) and paste into one of the new folder(s).

Once is there... get inside the Empty4 files, find "terminal" (application), right click and "send" to: Desktop (create shortcut) .. That will put a new generic icon in your desktop. Rename the icon as you wish ..for example Global 2 .

You can have as many instances you want, ..like you see in the pic.. I have 5..

Hey Numbat1,

I'm not being a smartarse here, or having a dig, but...

If you don't know the basics of using/maintaining a computer and software, do you think it's wise to be risking your money by trading online?

There are lots of tutorials online that cover the basics... I would suggest using them before you start any online trading, (including demo trading).

Hey all, I have found that this approach generally does work, but it may have issues on some ECN brokers, depending on whether or not the EA separates the OrderModify and OrderSend functions. I had occasional issues with multiple orders over multiple terminals with with an EA that separates these functions.

Thanks for your help guys much appreciated. I have it sorted. Was easier than I thought. Only with your help. If the PC goes wobbly I just pay to have it fixed. Where I live Empty4 is a foreign language and that's why I asked this forum respectfully. I didn't expect to be jumped on first post, which was a way of me saying hi.

I am sorry I gave the impression of being somewhat sub level to trade not knowing how to load 2 or more Empty4 programs.I cannot see the connection. Sorry Radar not having a dig either but you dont know me or my circumstances. I cannot code, dont want to code, program or whatever. I can switch it on. I want to trade, thats all but of course you have do some hard yards. I even have trouble with our new smart TV and dont even ask how I dealt with windows 8.

Even my Techo mates couldnt do it. So I assumed it was safe to ask a question as a Newbie Member. BTW a large figure sum in the bank from trading forex. My Wife is now a successful forex trader also and I taught her. She cannot load indicators on her PC, programs or what is the difference between mq4 this and that and why should she ? She makes 40-50 pips daily because she keeps it basic. Thats trading. I have linked her account to one of our live accounts and its cool.

I also dont want to be bogged down with Empty4 as to me it just a tool. My new trading plan is to trade the web platforms using several brokers including GP but using Empty4 for signals thats all. Far too may excuses I have had to endure from "Honest" Brokers who always have a get out clause regarding Empty4. I make ample positive pips on a daily basis but have had too many binned accounts using Empty4 which is a common theme if you are a winner with a large account. Time to think out of the box.

In my 60's and a successful stocks and options trader for 15 years with proper regulated brokers. Also I am strong in the money management department for those who think I need their advice, although willing to learn all the time as unlike some, dont know it all and never will. Take care and eat the pips.


Psychology and a good broker are the main keys to winning in this business not computer programming. Just my humble opinion. Once again thanks for the positive input. I am sure I will be able to contribute too from my strengths.
