SERIOUS WARNING
  • Most Forex traders lose all their money.
  • Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.

  • This is not a set-and-forget ea; there is no such thing and anyone who tries to claim there is, is either stupid or lying. This ea requires frequent manual intervention.
  • At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.

Intro
This EA is an implementation of 'BOB'S BRAINLESS OPEN NO THINKING' strategy at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 419#p99419. Go along there for a quick read of an even simpler strategy than the previous ridiculously simple strategy that Bob dreamed up.

The inputs
The only ones not described in the attached user guide are:
  • SessionOpenLineColour: BBT draws a dashed line that shows the session open price, extending for a period of 6 hours. This input allows you to chose the colour of the line. BBT does not delete these lines when removed, leaving them instead for historical research. Do not confuse this with an indi; remove the lines manually or delete them from your char and they are lost for good.
  • PendingBufferPips: the number of pips on either side of the session open to set your pending trades. The default is Bob's 10; I provide this input for the inveterate tinkerers to do their inveterately tinkering thingy.
  • PendingTradeDExpiryMinutes: this allows you to set a time limit in minutes before the pending trades expire if not filled. The default equates to 3 hours.
  • OCO: One Cancels the Other: deletes the opposite direction pending when the other fills and becomes a market order.
Trading hours
How to enter these is explained in the user guide. Questions about telling the time are banned and anyone flouting this ban will receive a public bollocking from me. These work on your computer's local time and you need to know what that is when:
  • Tokyo opens: 1.00 am London time.
  • London opens: 8.00 am London time.
  • New York opens: 1.00 pm London time.
The defaults represent these times because I live in the UK. Work yours out for yourself - this site might help you http://fxtrade.oanda.com/analysis/market-hours. A session open time is a session open time and we do not want BBT trying to send trades much beyond these times just because he was not connected to the net for a few minutes. So, your stop trading times should allow just a few minutes leeway - hence the default -x.05 times. Ignore this if you want, but don't blame me for the consequences.

Other Bob stuff
It is all there along with the usual other stuff, so read the attached user guide for details. You can combine the above with Slope, Css, RSI2 etc. Take your pick. Use different time frames and play to your hearts content.

I include it so that you can set BBT to only trade in the direction of your chosen 10.x filter. I have become an ardent admirer of the H4 140 moving average, for example. We shall see of all this makes any difference to profitability.

Future development
For starters, take profit and stop loss defaults are pure guesswork. I had to have some defaults, so I picked these.

It could be that we need dedicated sections for Tokyo, London and NY, with their own pip buffers, stops and expiry inputs. We shall see. What I have implemented here is a quick-and-dirty EA.

In conclusion
Start a new demo, load up a few charts and play.

I have been trying to use Scalp the Gits in a very similar way where I removed most of the 'Usual Filters' and then set the D1OpenHour to the same as the Session Open Hour. I then set it loose on m15 charts for the first 3 hours of each session.

Motivation:
I have attached the AJ chart which shows the open price for the start each of the Asian session. I noted that if you waited for the price to move 10 pips from the open to set the direction and then placed a pending trade at the next x.100 level (so 20 pips from the open / Scalp the Gits did this automatically) the price generally keep moving in that same direction at least another 10 pips. Once the pending trade was taken I then set a 10 pip TP and 10 pip SL.

Some other things I have noted. Generally the price only runs in one direction for the first 2-3 hours from the open then reverses back towards the Session Open.

The pairs that I think are good for this method are:

Asian Session (GJ, EJ, AJ)
UK session (GJ, EJ and possibly GU, EU)
US (have not found a good pair yet)

just check with F7 if you have allowed livetrading for this EA, as the new Empty4 build ask you to allow it seperate for each new EA you use..

I seem to be getting this error the moment the time comes to open trades (I experiment with all available CC's). This affects some (not all) orders, the outcome of this is that the robot misses out placing a fair amount of pending orders.

Perhaps this happens because the robot tries to send too many orders at once and somehow it crashes

Is there a way to overcome this?.

My way of overcoming this, would be to set different start times for certain groups of CC's (since I am trying them all at the same time).
