UNDER CONSTRUCTION. COME BACK IN A COUPLE OF HOURS

SERIOUS WARNING
  • Most Forex traders lose all their money.
  • Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.
  • Trading this robot could lead to serious financial loss.
  • Trading this robot without understanding its underlying trading strategies guarantees traders will lose their money.
  • This is not a set-and-forget ea; there is no such thing and anyone who tries to claim there is, is either stupid or lying. This ea requires frequent manual intervention.
  • At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.
  • To trade this robot, you have to understand:
THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL EA NOT YET BEING USED ON OUR LIVE ACCOUNTS

Intro
This EA is an implementation of Bob's 11.0 trading sessions strategy at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 914#p99914.

Bob's Second Brainless Thingy is the same as his first one, magnificently named Bob's Brainless Thingy apart from:
  • Using Bill Williams' Accelerator Oscilator to decide on the trade direction.
  • Including Bob's requested money management described at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 966#p99966
    • find the inputs just above the 'Trade management module' inputs.
    • UseBobMM: turn this on/off.
    • L1ProfitTargetPips is the first target for the profit to reach before moving the stop. When hit, B2BB will move the stop loss to L1SlMovePips. By default B2BB will move the stop to -15 at +5 pips profit. I leave you to work out for yourselves the use of the remaining 4 inputs in this section.
Bear in mind that the code is new and may have a bug or two.

    Two trading styles
Bob's describes his original idea in post 1 of his thread. Some members write later on about how they like to 'fade' the trend. My understanding of this is, taking a buy as an example: set a buy limit x pips below the session open. B2BT allows both or either styles of trading using the TradeTheTrend and TradeTheFade inputs. Both styles have their own take profit, stop loss, comment, magic number, buffer from the open at which to set the stop order and expiry minutes inputs.

    Trading hours
How to enter these is explained in the user guide. Questions about telling the time are banned and anyone flouting this ban will receive a public bollocking from me. These work on your computer's local time and you need to know what that is when:
    • Tokyo opens: 1.00 am London time.
    • London opens: 8.00 am London time.
    • New York opens: 1.00 pm London time.
The defaults represent these times because I live in the UK. Work yours out for yourself - this site might help you http://fxtrade.oanda.com/analysis/market-hours. A session open time is a session open time and we do not want BBT trying to send trades much beyond these times just because he was not connected to the net for a few minutes. So, your stop trading times should allow just a few minutes leeway - hence the default -x.05 times. Ignore this if you want, but don't blame me for the consequences.

Have a quick read of http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 43#p101043. CloseTradesAfterHours tells B2BT to close a trade after this number of hours have passed.

    Other Bob stuff
It is all there along with the usual other stuff, so read the attached user guide for details. You can combine the above with Slope, Css, RSI2 etc. Take your pick. Use different time frames and play to your hearts content. I am finding his H4 240 LWMA applied to the Open price to be spectacularly good at determining the overall trend, so give some serious thought to enabling it here.

I include it so that you can set BBT to only trade in the direction of your chosen 10.x filter. I have become an ardent admirer of the H4 140 moving average, for example. We shall see of all this makes any difference to profitability.

    Chart display
B2BT will only read the Oscillator when required to do so at the open of each session, and will retain that display unless you remove the bot or change time frames. From left to right the values are from 2 candles then 1 candle ago. This feedback is so we can ensure the ea is making the correct readings.

DisplayDelaySeconds (bottom of General Inputs) tells B2BB to refresh the chart feedback every three seconds rather than every tick. This is to save hammering the cpu. The default is 3 seconds.

    Note to coders
    Please read post 2.

    Future development
Guys in Bob's thread are talking about fading the trend, so I have left BBT's opposite direction pending trade code in place in case we want to play with it.

It could be that we need dedicated sections for Tokyo, London and NY, with their own pip buffers, stops and expiry inputs. We shall see. What I have implemented here is a quick-and-dirty EA.

    In conclusion
Start a new demo, load up a few charts and play.

Coders, I have left all of BBT's opposited-direction code in place but commented out. This makes it easy for you to play with taking counter-trend limit orders should you wish to.

Bob money management seems to be working for only buy trades. it does not work for sell trades.

I forgot to change the version number, so it is still 1b. 1b contains the fixes, so it does not matter.

Steve, thanks for this little baby. Aside from a few error 4107 messages, it's going a treat. :good: :good:

Having read Jemook's comments http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 45#p100045 I was wanting to check it out but am unable to find neither the TradeTheTrend nor the TradeTheFade inputs using the F7 key or the Editor.

Thanks mate!
Cheers
