Using a technique called “Bayesian regression,” they trained an algorithm to automatically identify patterns from the data, which they used to predict prices, and trade accordingly.
Actually, this is what Captain Jack has been saying all along; patterns repeat ( and have to repeat, coz no market is random, it is rigged from the get go )

Bayesian regression == math, shouldn't be a problem.

The part I'm worried about is "they trained an algorithm" --> Neural networks?, some form of A.I? (this is MIT after all... )

There is no mention of Neural network in the paper, but it does say:
"To facilitate computation on single machine with 128G RAM with 32 cores, we clustered...."
Hope someone here is able to have access to this kinda of serious hardware. :smile:

Then again, with cloud computing and all, this probably is not too far out...
