Not sure how many Moslems there are here because my very, very limited understanding of Islam includes the fact that followers of Islam are not allowed to borrow or lend money. My apologies if this is incorrect. Trading Forex through a broker involves borrowing money.

Fact is, I loathe and detest the way that criminal bastard fuckers are described in the media as: Moslem fundamentalists: Islamic fundamentalists.

Again, there is nothing I can do about this. All I can do is reassure shf Moslem members that these labels are abhorrent and will assert to the end of my days that these labels should be replaced.

"Moslem fundamentalists" should be replaced with "Criminal murderous bastards who have lost the right to be called 'human". They should be hunted down like rabid dogs and disposed of in the same way.

"Islamic fundamentalist" should be replaced with "Criminal murderous bastards who have lost the right to be called 'human". They should be hunted down like rabid dogs and disposed of in the same way.

Again, my apologies to true Moslem/Islamic fundamentalists whose beliefs I know nothing about but whose meaning I assume is: kindness and love at its most basic level. I am talking about the perversion of your beliefs here by people who have abdicated the right to be called human beings.

I completely agree. All of Australia was in complete shock and disbelieve after the Cafe Terrorist Attack and then to wake up this morning the the news of the Taliban attack on the Pakistan school...such a sad loss of innocent lives.

There has been a huge wave of support of the Moslem community in Australia which hopefully spreads worldwide (Google #illridewithyou)

Thanks Steve for this tread. I would like to clarify that it is forbidden in Islam to borrow money from someone which involves interest. As we all know that in today's world if we take loan from banks or credit cards we have to pay interest. Moreover in Forex trading we have to pay swaps and commissions which are also considered as interest. There are some brokers which have swap free accounts for Muslims so if someone does not use loan money from banks or credit cards and a swap free account then i guess Muslims are allowed Forex trading.
Coming over to yesterday tragic incident which has left the whole country in trauma. Terrorists killed 130 innocent school children in Pakistan. I have only tears in my eyes and my heart is broken. Those bastards are not Islamic Fundamentalists rather i would not like to call them even humans. No religion in the world advocates terrorism. Those bastards are using name of Islam and Jihad to defame and target a particular religion. Since Pakistan became an ally with US after 9/11 on global war on terror and from 2003 till to date 19751 civilians have been killed along with 6015 security forces personnel. But yesterday incident has been condemned by everyone across the globe. Some people/organizations/countries are using money as their prime weapon to promote terrorism. Why are they doing it? Its a long debate and they have their specific interests and agendas. Nevertheless as they say that "IN PEACE SONS BURY THEIR FATHERS BUT IN WAR FATHERS BURY THEIR SONS". :-(

Great post, Steve! I fully agree.

Let me add that as being a German I feel ashamed these days about those demonstrations taking place in some German cities under labels like PEGIDA to oppose against the German policy to provide shelter and hope for political refugees. I find comfort in the thought that it's only a dumb minority who acts this way.

And I am convinced that it is only a dumb minority of Moslems who join criminal and inhumane organizations like IS, Taliban, Boko Haram, etc. Most religions and most societies in the world have to deal with such minorities, nobody of us is alone.

A few days ago I stumbled upon a short video about a man from Rwanda, which not only touched my heart, but really blew my mind. His personal 'solution' after the 1994 genocide, which he's talking about, is so radical, so hard to take for me. But on the long run his 'solution' may be the only one. On the short run, I'm sure about that, our societies might have to defend themselves with different means.

Listen to this man, until he's finished. He deserves it. It's only 4 minutes.

Over centuries and even milleniums religion has been abused to reach political goals, to get power over the people. The Islam is not alone in this case. Look only a few years back to Ireland.

I know how it feels to follow a coffin which is so small that you were even able to carry it all alone. Terrorism is bad enough, but abusing children as targets ... I don't have words for that.

Our societies and our true religions are facing serious tasks. On one hand we have to be open to forgive, on the other hand it might be essential to defend our freedom and our tolerant societies.

It won't be easy, there are no simple answers.

Greeting to our friends ...

Over the many years I worked as an ICU RN I had the privilege to work with many very talented and wonderful Moslem Physicians and Surgeons. I was an ICU Nurse for 21 years and than a House Supervisor for 5 more before I had to retire due to disability.

In an ICU environment we work as a team and you become like a family. These men and women were family to me. They were some of the nicest, most talented and conscientious men and women I have ever known.

So Welcome and If ever I can be of help do not hesitate to PM me.
