Here is a little indicator that just displays the FF Calendar on a Empty4 chart. There is nothing smart happening here, it is just a display of news items, taken from the FF Calender and displayed in your own timezone (from the local PC time). This is not to compete with the other, more famous FFCal indicator, as this one does not give alerts and can not be used (at this stage) in an EA to avoid trades during news events. But I use it myself and I thought that others might too. It refreshes every 5 minutes (which is more than enough) and switches to todays date. The other days can be displayed by clicking on the day names.

Btw: Thursday (Jun 18th) looks very red:

Update: 2016-08-29:
Added the NewsEA.mq4 file and the necessary source files (LibFF.mqh and mql4-http.mqh).
The NewsEA code contains an example of how to use LibFF for filtering out news events in your own EA. This is meant for coders as NewsEA does not do anything by itself. LibFF and NewsEA uses the standard object library provided by MetaQuotes as a container for news objects. Hope this is useful for anyone.

Update: 2016-10-20:
Added FFCalLines. This indicator displays the news items as vertical lines, anchored at the scheduled news release date/time. Only news items that are relevant for either the base or the quote currency of the current chart are displayed. The vertical lines have tooltips that describe the title/content of the news item.

Update (LibFF.mqh) (2019.04.08): ForexFactory has apparently moved the xml file (temporarily?) to a new location. The new LibFF.mqh checks both the old and new location to find some data. A big "Thank You! :hi: " to Thomas for alerting me to this.

Hi,
nice indi, used on my vps, it uses the broker's time instead of my local time set on the vps. Is there any way you can adjust it to use local time instead of broker's time on vps server.

I have now added two parameters: AutoGMTOffSet (default: true) and GMTOffSet (default: 3), to allow for the configuration of the GMT OffSet.

Update is in post 1.

I have added the code for an example NewsEA in Post 1 of this thread, that will allow you to stop your EA from trading during scheduled news events. NewsEA is using the same library (LibFF) that was created for FFCalIndi.

Hope that this is of some use for the coders amongst us.

Can you kindly stick a Y and x Offset input into the Indicator so that we can have the Option to move the Interface anywhere we like on the Charts... Is that Possible or better still stick the Option to Open it up or Close it to the side like you do with most of the Gizmo's you code for me...

Could each pair news be isolated and be indicated directly on your trading screen with a horizontally dotted line (red, orange & yellow) as chosen by the user which news impact he/she would prefer on their screen.

:) If there are like 3 or 4 news items to be realeased at one go, then the horizontal lines, with their respective impact colour could be separated by 3 - 5 pixels so that should you hover your mouse over them, the popup would indicate the news item, sometimes its preceded with a ticket number like : #1456787 NFP - Non Farm Payroll Report

Having it on your trading screen is just as good as gauging the risk reward on any trade and would keep you from potentially really bad trades. I wouldn't mind buying it if they don't break down like others av seen with the horizontal line function and they don't keep you tied to a monthly subscription to news which are just for free on rss feeds and on the Internet. Thanks for the brilliant share and any further mods in this regard :!!:

Can you illustrate your suggestion with a mockup screen? A picture is worth a thousand words, as they say ...
(Somehow, I have the feeling that you mean to have vertical lines (instead of horizontal), anchored at the date/time of when the news item is to be released ...)
