SERIOUS WARNING
Ehup all This EA has its genesis at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 3204#p3204 Read about it first before continuing. This thread replaces the original Ducks EA thread. Doc has refined his strategy down to 4 Ducks, so this version reflects the u, \bmn TIG has made it incredibly easy to code the EA. Nice one, George. In fact, I could probably have coded the EA by simply lifting George's code and subsuming it, but decided to use the indi as all the rest of you will have it on your chart. TIG's indi shows the value of the Duck selected by the indi's Duck input. The attached template sets up the chart for you, with all 4 Ducks lined up with the correct Duck input. When looking at the chart, remember that the EA trades at the start of each new candle, so the screen display reflects the Ducks as they were at the close of the previous candle. Doc first attracted our interest to this because he is trading it live and successfully. For exits, we have this from Doc's pm: "Exit is the first candle to open above/below the fast 3SMMA in the opposite direction." I have taken this to mean, close the trade at the start of a new candle where the previous Ducks no longer line up. The Ducks inputs are the same as TIG's defaults . Other inputs are familiar to regular punters here. Those of you unfamiliar with balance and management inputs, find a copy of my Shell User Guide littered all over this forum. If StopLoss is set to zero, then the stop is calculated by taking the high (sell) or low (buy) of three candles ago - as per Doc's pm to me. Trade exit is by: stop loss; take profit; change of Duck1 colour (moving average cross). In conclusion Have fun. No, sorry. As soon as I start adding indi's, the system begins to move away from the system that Doc is using successfully. |

Anyone else having problems with the jumping stop? as you can see in my pic, my break even got triggered and is at +2. after that happens, my jumping stop will get triggered, go forward 17 pips, and then I'll get the onscreen msg that the stop modification failed with error(1), no error. then the stop gets put back to break even at +2. this happens on all pairs for me. |

quick question: When the SL is set to 0 pts, how is the SL calculated? Is it the low from the previous X candles? I have just set this up and am trying to figure it out. |

I should have explained this in post 1 but forgot. If StopLoss is set to zero, then the stop is calculated by taking the high (sell) or low (buy) of three candles ago - as per Doc's pm to me. |

Latest update in post 1. I had the bot coded to close if any of the ducks were quacking out of tune. This was a misunderstanding because Doc wants the trade closed only if Duck1 (moving average cross) changes colour. Not that it mattered. A bloop meant that Duck1 was never checked for a colour change if HiddenPips = 0. So, an essential update. |
