I am not going to write a lot here. Go to celte83's thread at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =16&t=4432 to read the trading method, download the indi's and template etc. Trading methods do not come much simpler that this one. Nice one, celte83. :clap: :clap: :clap:

For now, demo Goosey with the defaults. Use the trade manager in celte83's V 3, but use the 'trade manager V3' setfile attached here.


Pop the attached, "Wilder's for EA" into your indicators folder. You do not need it on your charts - use celte83's template. Do the same with "DSS Bressert". The EA cannot work without it.

All the usual stuff is included. Ignore it for now unless you are familiar with it. The Shell User Guide describes the features should you fancy playing with them.

You will not go short of trades on the M15, so stick to the Majors and perhaps GJ for now. Set up the ea and let it run for a bit.

Manual trading
Do try tranding this system manually even if you can only do so for a couple of hours at a time. It is good fun.

DSS Bressert
These are inputs you need to make decisions about before becoming familiar with how Goosey works.
  • DSS colour change:
    • DssCloseOnColourChange: close a buy when DSS turns red, and a sell when it turns blur.
    • MoveStopLossOnColourChange: instead of immediately closing the trade, move the stop loss to within a few pips of the previous candle's low (buy) or high (sell).
    • DistanceFromHiLoPips: pips to add/subtract from the hilo when moving the stop loss.
  • This indicator combines an EMA with Stochastic - no idea how because indi code makes my eyes cross. It looks like a bad idea to me to sell when the Stoch element is oversold, and buy when overbought. The two inputs DssOverbought/DssOversold apply a Stochastic-style filter, so Goosey will not buy above DssOverbought or sell below DssOversold.
    • Turn off DssOverbought by setting it to 101.
    • Turn off DssOversold by setting it to -1.
    • SendPendingWhenObOs: this tells Goosey to send buy stop/ sell stop trades instead of immediate market orders, when there is a trade trigger but DSS is in the overbought/oversold areas. If this input is set to 'false', and PendingNotMarketTrades is also 'false', G will send immediate market trades.
    • PendingBufferPips: the number of pips away from the market to set the pending price. You will receive an 'invalid stops' error if the pending price is too close to the market for your broker to allow the trade.
    • PendingTradeExpiryMinutes: G will add this number of minutes to your broker's time and send it with the the pending trade as its deletion time. Disable expiry by setting this to 0.
Change of signal exits
DssCloseOnColourChange has its equivalents for the other three indicators: CloseOnDmifColourChange; NlmCloseOnColourChange; CloseOnBookDmifColourChange. These are enabled by default.

Change of signal stop loss move
DmiMoveStopLossOnColourChange tells G to move the stop loss to the hilo +- DistanceFromHiLoPips pips from the hilo of the previous candle when DMI changes colour. The other indicators have their equivalents.

Manual trade closure
I and a few others have seen many candles go to break even then retrace quickly to BE. Some of us have taken to stepping in quickly when we see a profitable candle start to retrace - a suggestion for you to consider.

Using Goosey as a manual trading aide
There are two versions of Goosey in post two here, to aid manual traders. Check them out to see if they are of use to you.

Pending trades options
There is a "Pending trades inputs" section where you can instruct Goosey to send buy stop and sell stop instead of immediate market orders:
  • PendingNotMarketTrades: tells G to send pending trades instead of immediate market orders.
  • PendingBufferPips: a buy stop is placed at the high of the previous candle plus PendingBufferPips. A sell stop is placed at the low of the previous candle minus PendingBufferPips.
  • PendingTradeExpiryMinutes: sends the broker time plus this number of minutes with the stop order. The order will be cancelled after this period.
  • PendingTradeAlert: if 'true', tells G to show an alert when there is a trade, and to email you with the alert if you have set up your platform to do this. Do not ask me how to set up your platform to send emails - I do not know.
  • PendingTradeAlertPush: if 'true', tells G to send an alert to your smart phone if you have set up your platform to do this. Do not ask me how to set up your platform to do this - I do not know.
Trading hours
Jean-Francoise is French and so trades during the London/NY sessions. I suggest you use the Trading Hours feature to limit Goosey to these hours.

Attached are two versions of Goosey to help manual traders.

"Goosey for trade signals only" monitors the charts and looks for trade triggers. All live trading and trade management features are disabled. There are few inputs in this version. Scroll down to the bottom to find the "Email thingies" section:
EmailTradeNotification sends you an email when there is a trigger, assuming you have set up your platform to do so.
SendAlertNotTrade shows a platform alert.
AlertPushsends notification to your Smart phone when there is a trigger, assuming you have set up your platform to do so.
Please do not ask me how to set up email and smart phone alerts - I haven't a clue.

"Goosey trading only - no management" will send the trades for you but then do nothing about them. All management features are disabled.

For some people the dsspro indicator is not working on their charts (i'm using build 890 on Global Prime). Do we need to make an adjustment in the code if we use the DSS Bressert indicator which celte83 linked in the other thread? Or would it work if we delete dsspro from our installation and rename DSS Bressert into dsspro?

Good point. I am one of them. No, you need DSS Bressert in your indi folder as well. Thanks. I have amended post 1.

V 1a is in post 1. DMI Book Alerts must have the DI+ > BookPlusMinusLevel for a buy; DI- > BookPlusMinusLevel for a sell.
