| Post subject: | Brokers with Similar Demo vs Live Results? |
I know this is a topic that has been discussed before, but no one seems to have any solid testing on which broker has the closest demo vs live feed EA trading results. I bring up this issue because after months of testing PPoS on multiple brokers with multiple settings all on demo, I decided to go live with FXCM. Well, luckily for me, the trades were in my favor, but the trades taken by the EA on the demo and live accounts differ so drastically that it would appear to be 2 different EA's running. My goal here is to try to compile a list of brokers that we can use to run an EA where the results from demo will be very similar if not the exact same as the live trading. I think this will be very helpful going forward in the future because we will know which brokers to use instead of having to test an EA on multiple brokers with the assumption we'll have similar results in live. I figure that most are using GP if possible, but for those not using GP or in the US, which brokers have you found to have the most reliable demo vs live feed for EA trading? |

I have found that ATC's demo feed is closer to its live feed than FXCM's, but news events cause variances. Also, I ran PPOS on both ATC and FXCM live feeds with different results, even though ATC is just an IB to FXCM. Unfortunately, one just has to run live to gauge anything, which can be more of an issue with ATC's minimum lot size (.05). |

Thanks for the info, yea, I use ATC as well but their minimum live account requirements are quite high for testing, minimum $5k just to open an acct |

I am also a US resident and if you want the same results as demo on Live just copy the trades over. I honestly feel this is the best way anyway because your stop's are "hidden" as its on the demo platform. They have free tools to copy your trades from demo to live in ms timeframe. http://www.fxblue.com/appstore/2/Empty4-pe ... ade-copier Just an idea, as far as your main question, im not sure. |

Hey X You might know this already however.. A demo environment can never be the same in execution as live as with a live environment your fills are going out to the liquidity providers and you can see slippage on trades. A demo environment just fills you at the exact price you want instantly, like a b-book. For example news trading or tick scalping will work on a demo but as soon as you go live you can forget it. FYI our demo feed mimics the live environment 1:1 in terms of spread and pricing as it just copies the pricing from the live server. Good luck with your search! Cheers Jeremy |
