SERIOUS WARNING
  • Most Forex traders lose all their money.
Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.
Trading this robot could lead to serious financial loss.
Trading this robot without understanding its underlying trading strategies guarantees traders will lose their money.
This is not a set-and-forget ea. There is no such thing and anyone who tells you there is, is either a liar or an idiot. This EA will need manual intervention when NoOfTrades buys and sells are open, and the only recourse from there is to manage the basket manually.
At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.
To trade this robot, you have to understand:
    • How to use EA's.
      Moving Averages.
      Stochastic.
      Trend trading and retracement.
DO NOT TRADE THIS EA ON A LIVE ACCOUNT. IT IS EXPERIMENTAL.

Ehup all

I was mooching around earlier and came across this posted by Astral: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 8927#p8927

I thought we could give an EA a try - the system is pretty simple and lends itself to automation.

The EA looks for trades at the opening of each new candle, so the Stochastic cross from OB/OS takes place at the close of the previous candle. The Moving Averages and Stochastic inputs are fully configurable.

I have used the Fractals indi to find the previous swing high/low for the stop loss. Use RiskRewardRatio to multiply the distance between the stop loss and the order open price; the default creates a 1:3 RR ratio as recommended by James Chan.

All the usual stuff is in with the bot - Hanover, CBI etc. Read the attached Shell user guide for details if you are unfamiliar with these. Ignore inputs mentioned in the guide that you do not see in the EA.

In conclusion
I have no idea if this has any legs. There are a multitude of combinations of inputs, so play to your hearts content and see if you can make DP work for you.

Call it your Easter Egg. By the by, I adapted your Slowkey trend-spotting routine to determine the trend, so your name is still in the bot.

Oh Steve, I put this on the Demo where I had the previously Symphonie 60-5. I set it up on 15 minutes , 30 minutes and 60 minutes each of 5 pairs. I did this because I know of an other system that is similar that I have traded manually that you try to pick the best trend from multiple time periods. It opened a trade on all the pairs. Anyway it caught the bulk of non farm payroll. Up 214 pips combined on gbpjpy and usdjpy. Under 5 pip down on two more and eurusd down about 38. Nice start. I had a stop of 140 on all of these pairs and forgot to turn on a break-even. Closing down for weekend. I like. If I had a break-even on all of the pairs they would have been winners it looks like too. So a total of 181 net pips. I had the pairs separated out by magic numbers for each group of 3 however I should have given each pair a separate magic number because it would be easier to see which time period opened. In testing it does not look like it trades a lot but so far looks good. That is why I decided to use different time periods. It handled nfp perfectly. Now will need to see how much it wants to trade under normal conditions. :D

My guess is it will not be a trading tart, so interesting to see how it gets on next week.

Good to see you having fun.

Cheers

No it will not trade a lot but it can be put on different time periods if it looks good. It seemed to open all of the positions on the 30 minute time period which I had optimized for with stop loss and stochastic. I will have to see what it does when I optimize all the other time periods. It is unlikely that it will open positions on more than one time period at the same time. My experience looking at this manually is that pull backs will occur on one time period but not another. What is a trend and pull back on the 15 minute period is not necessarily a setup on another time period like the hour. So we can increase the potential trades if this is successful EA by adding time periods. I like simple ideas like this. But alas I jump the gun. Will have to see if this can be stable on a day to day basis :D

Thanks very much STEVE. Will load it up on demo and see how it does. Your guess it quite right since the strategy is based on DEEP pull back which does not happen that often.

Kind Regards
