Post subject:  Reason for Indie bogging down Empty4
Hi All, I trust everyone is well?

I would like to throw a question out to the gallery pls.

I have an indicator that seems to be bogging down Empty4. I was wondering if there is a "general" reason that an indie would do this? Is it something to do with the Empty4 build perhaps? Or, conflict with another indicator?

Is there anything that can be done about this, without the source code for the indie?

Probably rubbish coding. We do not describe so many 'Custom Indicators' as, 'Crap Custom Abortions' because we love them.
Is there anything that can be done about this, without the source code for the indie?

Hi.

I have often seen rubbish indies re-calculating large numbers of history bars on every tick. If there is something in the inputs like "look back period", "history bars" or "bars to calculate", try to decrease that. Sometimes this has a quite dramatic effect in terms of cpu load.

Don't confuse this with inputs like "refresh period" or "timer interval". Inputs of this kind are used when things (mostly EAs) run in timed loops. They must be increased to lower cpu load.

If you do find such inputs then drop the Crap Custom Abortion with the speed you would attempt when faced with a jar marked, "Covid germs. Breathe deeply to inhale."

Thanks for that input, I shall investigate.

Life is hard enough when you are ignorant....much more so when Empty4 is in the mix! :smile:
