  Please note that full Goldy is no use to you if your government or broker does not allow hedging. You can still use her basket trading features if you know that you only want to trade in a specific direction and take advantage of the grid trading elements. The inputs are TradeLong and TradeShort. Details in the user guide.
  
  Goldy arose from my experimenting with a manual system on the XAUUSD pair and I realised it was ideal for automation. I have described Goldy's trading method in the user guide.
  
  User guides
  I have included the .odt file in case you want to make notes of your own. It is an Open Office document and I am fairly sure the Microsoft Office can load it. If not, Apache Open Office is open source and free to download and use. Download it from https://www.openoffice.org/download/
  
  Manual position closure
  Use the attached 'Goldy position closure script' for manual closure. Goldy keeps track of the latest equity targets by storing their values on tiny files held on the platform. She will be working with out of date figures if they are not deleted, so the script takes care of that as well.
  
  In conclusion
  Have fun with this one - go with the default inputs until you are familiar with how the bot works.. It is very satisfying to see the equity increasing day by day - sometimes three or four times. At the time of writing, the demo I have developed Goldy on, has increased from a start of $5,000 to just over $7,600 in just a few weeks.
  
  Edit 26th April 2025. No individual take profits experiment
  Offsetting has been doing a good job of managing drawdown and preventing large gaps forming between buys and sells, at the time of writing.
  
  This made me speculate about not sending TP's with individual orders. My rationale is this: the equity profit target will be hit rapidly when the market steams off in one direction and the position does not become hedged.

  An 'investor password' allows you to view the account in one of your demo platforms but denies you the ability to alter the trading, so you do not need to worry about possibly mucking things up.

  I could not post an investor password to the demo I used to start all this because it was an old account and I had not kept the details. The platform slowed to a crawl last week and eventually I had to start a new demo. I used an starting balance of $11,000, roughly equal to that of the original demo once an equity target was hit.   We are finding large gaps opening up between the buy and sell groups, when the market does not cooperate. The solution might be to manually add trades and the 'Stop order manager' facilitates this.
