The story is this: the guy is a fisherman who discovered the Great White Shark entangled in his ntes and facing a lingering death. He cut her (him?) free. Shark appears to know who did the rescue and had adopted the guy as a Best Buddie.

Who needs a pussy cat as a pet, when you can have a damn great shark?

I saw a Snopes hoax-busting article once that made reference to a particular character called 'garyfritz'. It mentioned that this user likes to frequent forex forums and that 'any post from garyfritz which claims another post is a hoax is actually a hoax itself.'

So looks like the story is true after all :D
