Hi all, I've had look through the forum and I've found tonnes of EAs and a some templates for writing EAs but was wondering if there was a project in here that has abstract the core trading functions into a stand alone library? I've written a couple of indicators etc but I'm yet to write an EA. I have an idea that I've started to implement as an indicator but as I port it to an EA I would be keen to work with someone to build a library that abstracts all the trade functions in parallel. I have programming experience in R, python, C/C++, Java, javascript, etc etc. And naturally some MQL4. I have a background in mathematics and software engineering. So I hope to be useful around here! hi ninety47, First off...welcome to our community. It's great to have one experienced Developer more on board. Most of the people here are using one of the Shell EAs from Steve as a template for their developments. I don't know of any library that is specialized only on the trading functions. The only thing that is close to this is the LibOrderReliable. But this is only a library that resembles the standard Empty4 Order Functions in a reliable matter. Don't know if this is what you're searching for. Maybe if you could describe what you are looking for I could give a better answer. happy trading, NeoTrader - |

Hi NeoTrader, Thanks for the reply. This is good starting point for me - I'll look more into what other trading systems are using and trade managers also (found a copy Steve's trade manager on FF). With this information I'll pull together a list functions that I think the library should have however off the top of my head I think it should have: - trade management abstractions and functions - functions for hidden/stealth/silent stop management - limit and stop order entry functions In the mean time what do the more experienced EA coders in the forum think? Is there a good reason why there isn't specific set of trade functions? Cheers, ninety47 |
