Hi,

I'm looking for a script or novel way to import limit orders incl. stops etc from excel / spreadsheet into Empty4. Has anyone seen anything that can accomplish this?

Do you want the trading to be initiated from Excel, or can Empty4 just read an excel file and get the orders out of it?

These products allows control of Empty4 from excel:
http://fxdialogue.com/en/mexcel-trader (though this looks like you have to use their broker)
http://www.tradingtools4u.com/tools.aspx

This allows you to access excel from Empty4:
http://codebase.mql4.com/3672

The first two options work by running a control script/ea in Empty4 that reads command files created by excel. Excel isn't really controlling the terminal.

If the last option works, you might even be able to use it to create the spreadsheet in the first place to do whatever calculations you need and then get the results to place the orders. Of course, with the last one you have to code all of the order entry code as well. I would think converting shelleynow wouldn't be too difficult (says the man who hasn't opened the file).

I did a little playing with the third option. With a few lines of code I successfully opened an excel file and read multiple values from it... The demo included with the library also worked, creating a spreadsheet with an embedded chart.

Thanks again for looking into this for me. I had a PM from a forum member who let me know of his method "Excel Trading Pro" which you referenced. That looks like the best method for what my colleague wishes to accomplish. You're a Legend!
