A heads-up guys.

The problems we are having with Empty4 are real and immediate. They will not be so in a few weeks time when newcomers are reading this thread, and will appear to be an irritating red-herring.

I am going to start pruning posts about the problems. Contributors whose posts are deleted are not to take this as a criticism.

I shall try to leave in place posts which offer solutions; forgive me if I go wrong and delete the occasional 'solution' post by accident.

Yes I thought about this point ... it seems 10-12 pairs are enough ?
What is your opinion - which pairs are the "better" ones ?

M15/M30/H1
with 1k
and 0.1%/0.5%/2.0% risk
and 12 pairs (excluded GBPJPY, EURJPY, CADJPY)
and only 1% balance TP

Seems a good idea. Should reduce the risk. I don't know if it's me but JPY pairs seem to eat pips on EA's unless of course it is set up specifically for JPY pairs.

Is 2% risk too much? Is that 2% of the balance per trade?

A post for newcomers reading this for the first time, well after the date stamp of this post.

My post three higher than this one will appear strange, but only now.

What happened then was this: the dimwits at CrapperQuotes (aka MetaQuotes, but only by those who have not had to put up with their rubbish for more than a few days) released an 'upgrade' to their Crapform (aka 'Platform').

Anyone who has been a member of shf (aka... ok, I leave you to work it out for yourself) for more than 30 seconds knows that these 'upgrades' are a thing of terror and to steer clear of them. These cowboys' latest, build 711 I believe, is unbelievable in its idiocy.

Here is what it got up to:

• randomly closing down platforms. Yep guys, that is entire platforms. Once it was there, then next........... Imagine leaving an EA managing a $50,000 retirement fund account.
• randomly closing charts.
• randomly deleting software such as EA's from charts whilst leaving the charts open.

And the brokers pay to use this stuff so we can trade with them? You could not make this up were you trying to write a fiction thriller.

Some members found they could overcome the problems by reinstalling the Crapform over the top of the failed installation. Others found this did not work. We thrashed around in the dark and are still doing so at the time of writing.

Oh yes, when asked about it, the cowboys at Crapperquotes replied, in so many words, "Fuck off shitwit. You get what we send you."

No idea what comes next. Just offering up some sort of explanation to current readers and slightly confused readers in the future.

Not that anybody bothers to read my posts, so I have probably just wasted my time. Hey no.

I hear you Steve ..I lost the lot today ,Templates EA's the works.All demos but funnily enough it left the live ones alone but buggered up all the settings so had to reset everything .Luckily it cost hundreds not thousands..I do wish CAlgo was better represented here.

I hear what you are saying. We are reading lots of posts about what a shit-product this Empty4 has become and quite deservedly so, but for the longer term, we have to choose one of two options:

• Stick with Empty4 and 'hope' that it is going to get better. or
  Choose another platform, throw away your bucket-load of existing MQL4-code and start from scratch.

This decision is not unlike trading forex: You're in a loosing trade. Are you cutting your loss, or stick with it and hope that it will get better? This is a tricky decision. In my opinion, Empty4 is not likely going to get better. However, another platform such as cTrader will no doubt have its own issues.

This post will no doubt be deleted, but surely this is something that many are considering. Thoughts?

My thoughts are the same as yours Rene ..Empty4 only gets worse and having used CTrader (for manual trading only )it is a far more stable and professional platform.When it comes to CAlgo i know Slipshod switched and to date has not returned so that must say something..There is not enough shared info available on the programming for the bots available for CAlgo or its limitations compared to Empty4.To date there are no forums like this that support CTrader and there really is a need for this. The only option available is to pay to have conversions done and this is definitely on the horizon for me.I like you would love to see something taking shape here.

- max DD 495 pips [~5%]
- booked -226 pips this week [2,7%]
- currently -100 pips with 2 trades open
- 4 big trades were closed negative, over 100 pips each

M15, all pairs;
- max DD 1330 pips [~14%]
- booked -153 pips this week
- currently -690 pips with 11 trades open
- 5 trades were closed negative, for appr. 300 pips in total

All in all I'm happy with what I'm seeing sofar.
