My current trade. This would be a trade that I would have taken anyway, without HGI,but when those 2 little buggers popped up above them trend line bounce candles,it was an easy decision to make. As you can see, I draw lines like a lunatic, so one can imagine how many ideas go trough my head before I pull the trigger. Thanks to good ol' Bob,thats gonna be so much easier now.

P.S. Half position closed at 114 pips,BE is in place, next target 200EMA. Cheers.

HGI

Hi Bob and other contributors to the HGI, thanks for helping us poor souls survive in this train wreck called forex, as Steve liked to put it.

There are upteen ways of trading the HGI signals, and this is one I find quite useful. Using Steve's 10.6 trading aid ea to take STO7 trades. The following chart shows two Rad arrows within the last five bars which indicates that the trend probably has legs, followed by the current big sell arrow.

I am using Steve's STO7 sell ea to capture the retrace if it happens. I could almost say you could bet your house on this one, but having said it, it is very likely I am going to end up with egg on my face !

On a normal trading day, the trade has more than 80% chance of success. On a thin volatile market today, anything can happen.

But we shall see.

There is another good way to trade HGI
Use correlation. For example: EURUSD, EURJPY and USDJPY. When you get the same big arrow on two of the three charts you take the entry on EURUSD.Sometimes the second signal appears one bar later, but when you use only big arrows you can take the enty. Be carefull, a signal on USDJPY is the other way around.

The issue is not repainting, when you refresh you only get signals that exist at candle close. Live trading allows you to see the action during a candle formation.
I don't dare to ask......but is it possible to get a version of HGI that acts in realtime the same way. ;)

This is how I would like to see it fx800. If the price gets into that yellow boxed area and bounces of the line there with a strong down candle (long red HA in my case) then I would go short with all the chips in. Daily trend is down and I think it may go down to 117,so it could be a nice little trade. If HGI arrows pop out up in there too,well...

That is a long long way up. Price may never get threre today. You have to accept what the market gives you.

I see what you mean when you say you like to draw lines like a lunatic ! Continue to do whatever helps you to trade. I just like Bob's simplicity approach with HGI.

See what I mean when I mentioned earlier about the value of keeping those Rad arrows on your charts. They tell a story " hey, the trend is strong and is likely to continue, so stay in there a bit longer". They will be negated if wavy lines appear at the bottom, so I will be on the lookout for those as price has travelled more that 130 pips south in the latest drop.

I removed the Rad arrows at the beginning, and the wavy lines too ! Now I trade the blue wavy lines like I do the big trend arrows. They are just as powerful. The wavy lines say "hey, we have had a good run, IT'S TIME TO REVERSE !"

The HGI is an ingenious piece of engineering, handing everything out to you on a platter. Instead of going back to check the CSS to see if the slope strenghth is continuing, it's all there on the chart. How clever can you get.

When the wavy lines finally appear at the bottom, as they surely will, then look for the best way of getting out.

The trend is so strong, so I have set the Rad pending script for a break out trade. I am being a bit greedy today.
