HGI for beginners.

Hi all,
I have been reading some commentary with regards to Greece and the ECB etc and the can kicking/sabre rattling game of hard ball that is going and there is talk of a high probability of some substantial gaps occurring at the open on Monday which got me wondering how to manage this with HGI. If I recall right, Bob has designed the system in a way so as to not be concerned with news announcements, but what about these once in a blue moon events that could have the potential to cripple an account?
The obvious answer is to close any position that may be effected, taking any loss, but sleeping better over the weekend in this instance.
If this were to catch one out though, say mid week while you slept, position sizing rules would help to soften the blow but is there any other way to mitigate the loss? S/L's can be jumped, will EA's be caught out aswell?
Do the experienced traders out there have any recommendations for reliable news sources and commentary?
I may have answered a few of my own questions above but I also don't know what I don't know.

1) You can close the trade and take the hit.
2) If you are not with an American broker, you could hedge the trade.

If you do hedge make sure you do it when the market is calm in order to reduce spread.

Hi all

I've been away for a while and not had much of a chance to trade. Thinking about coming back to it all in September, but want to get up to speed with the system.

Can I confirm a couple of things, if you don't mind?

1) Is HGI version 16.07 the latest one? There is a version 17.00 also.. but the option of both is on the HGI homepage
2) I have been doing a visual back test on the charts and the results look outstanding. Are the arrows, wavy signals etc as shown in the past exactly as they were at the time or would these arrows and wavy lines have changed?
3) Being based in the UK, we have the option of spread betting. I will be able to trade indices and stocks as well as currencies. Are there any instruments that anyone can see this system not working properly on?

1) 16.07 is the latest one with only the basic functions, 17.00 the latest one with some extra functions like ignore future, hurst filter ecc. read the HGI thread for this
2) no, the indicator will show the past optimized, this is in the nature of the TMA slope, which is part of thecalculations..
3) if you have enough history data yes, you will be able to use HGI on every symbol...

Hi guys, can anyone tell me why my Holy Grail scripts wont stay on the charts, when I place a Long or short pending script on the chart it stays on the chart for a few seconds then vanishes

a script does only one time it's function than it is removed, that is the difference between script and EA..

thanks for getting back tomasso, I realise its not an EA, but the pending order doesn't stay on the chart and there are no orders pending in the order box below the chart

maybe ask in the HGB bascic thread, or you can attach here your script and I will take a look..
Do you have seen any error messages in the logfile?

Hi tommaso here is one of the scripts but none of the the scripts trend,wave, etc, will load I have HGB set up on the charts just to manage the trades, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it
